I agree with the ufc having the better business model and its better for the fans.The fighters actually fight the top guys unlike boxing.But the fighters do get the short end of the stick in pay.

Canelo can't "take the deal" oscar negotiated with DAZN. Oscar has not negotiated anything for him. Oscar negotiated a deal that pays GB $40 million to for each Canelo fight. That is the deal that Oscar negotiated. Oscar also negotiated a deal with Canelo to pay him $35 million per fight plus a percentage of the gate, sponsorship revenues and money received from merchandising. So Oscar is on the hook for that.

Canelo is willing to forego the gate, merchandizing and sponsorhip reveue plus a 33% reduction on the $35 million guarantee. There is nothing in the Canelo contract with GB that is contingent on anything. Canelo has a double albatross around his neck -- GB and DAZN. Alvarez would be better off agreeing to a one-fight "deal" provided that he negotiates a deal with GB to buy out his contract. The sooner he sets himself free from them the better it will be for his career.

Outside of a 3rd fight with ggg, Canelo can't generate the amount of money necessary to justify 35 mil per fight. There aren't enough big names at 160-168 to produce the money needed to pay him that much and still make a considerable profit.

Canelo really can go it alone, he doesn’t need a middleman, but I think he has already signed his life away to GBP. Who in turn have broker a deal between themselves and DAZN. Canelo can't go anywhere and make shyt, his fights don't pay nearly what DAZN gives him. For the record, Canelo doesn't even speak English and still Oscar was able to make him a super star and make him Ring Mag #1 P4P. Canelo isn't as ****** as some in here and for that reason he'll stay and renegotiate.

Canelo is not going anywhere.. he can sit until fans are allowed back or take the amended deal. When the fans come back he can take the fight with GGG. The issue stems from Oscar refusing to put on the Canelo vs GGG fight without fans.
