hence, ''had.'' And everyone you just said I've been pleading with fans to apply to GGG as well. Abel Sanchez had even been talking about 175 years back! If GGG was 173lbs against Rubio and 175 against Canelo. It means if GGG didn't do drains during fight week and camp establishment he'd be even better in performance.

Remember that it helped done wonders for Bernard Hopkins' career. Ever since he turned 40 and moved up to 175 weight division. It helped prolonged his career for another 11 years.

Moreover, he won many more Light heavyweight title belts along the way too by becoming boxing's oldest title holder ever at ages 46 and 48.

Cutting down to 160 all those years had made Hopkins so starched and weak that he could hardly throw more the five punches per round.

The bold is the context and circumstance that matter. Butt Stuff knows the science. Everything is calibrated from pre-camp, camp, fight week. There's a reason why Jacobs chose the Morning skip and chose to pay the fine.

Besides, look what Jacobs says here.

Its funny that the IBF dropped their mandatory fight day weigh in, directly after this, if its a unification match.

Everybody is different and carries weight differently and has easier/harder times cutting weight. Some guy’s hellish 10 pound weight cut is another man’s relatively easy 15 pound cut or another who can somehow squeeze out 20+.

Guys like Chavez Jr for example. How the hell he made 160 is insane considering his ethic, etc. But the guy could throw punches all night and come forward and enjoy such a size advantage that he was a “legitimate” champion. He was never going to be faster by not cutting weight or hit harder...because the men would be about 10+ pounds naturally heavier a class up. Chavez Jr fighting men his own natural size didnt end well... he lacked focus not having to make an extra 15 pound cut at the end, his nutrition, training, everything was different

Some people need that machine like grind to be better honed *and* focused come fight night. Some guys need to train like they still have 10+ pounds to cut in addition to the size thing.

If GGG DIDN’T cut weight, he’d be fighting guys cutting a ton of weight at 175. 168-175 is where guys suddenly start to look huge because of the big increase from 175 to the next weight class up. Guys would have legitimate 20 pound functional weight advantages along with just bigger, thicker frames and sometimes way more height. They’d be SO much stronger. GGG doesnt have the style to day in and day out go out and fight Beterbiev and company with a 20 pound disadvantage in weight and a few inches in height.

GGG is absolutely perfect at 160. Probably would have been incredible at 154 if he really tried. Every fighter from 154-160 and up cuts weight. Canelo looks big at 154 but it isnt until you saw him against the 160 guys where you went...man, this guy is noticeably smaller than everyone. GGG isn’t a huge 160, but he’s definitely not small. 168 would be his max effective range but he’ll still run into dudes with crazy size advantages like benavidez and callum.

Which was within 6 months or so of Jacibs vs Nelo. It is what It is. They did the right thing to drop second day weigh ins on unification.

No bro, after Jacobs vs GGG I believe. That was 2017? Canelo Jacobs was 2019.

Lets be honest. Everyone's weight is different and body type is different. I also think Jacobs should have been a 168 pounder for years. However, he did have 25 radiation treat ments too. This could have effected his body adversely. You also some times lose your appetite when you take radiation and chemo. To say he is lazy is not fair. He may have just grown too big since becoming healthy and getting nuturients his body was probably losing due to the effects of the medicine. He is big though. Taller than you think.
