One of the biggest stories in the boxing industry is the ongoing legal battle involving Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Last week, Canelo filed a $280 million breach of contract lawsuit against his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya, and streaming service DAZN.

Canelo v Benavidez, Plant, Charlo eventually. That would be very nice.

Broham......it doesn’t get any better than that. I look forward to seeing Canelo get back to the fans and rejoin the American sports scene

DAZN and Oscar needs to realize that filing was a warning shot to get them to get their shît together!

They can easily adjust the suit and make it pass the technicality of a corporation to LLC, DAZN we’re idiots to pass on that they would actually ok Canelo vs his promoter with full pay but not Canelo vs Prime undefeated champions with either 30% pay cut or full pay!

Canelo is worth no more than 18 mill or 24 mill a fight not no dŕmn 35+!

I also don’t like the fact they gave equity to his rival in Golovkin which is a clear conflict of interest!

As a boxing fan who has read through several articles that are explaining the in and out of this lawsuit.... I only understand like 10% of it. It is written in hard legal talk and pages and pages of attacks only a lawyer can understand. That on the surface tells me one of two things:

Canelo is angling for more control over who he fights than this contract gives him. If that is it, and he is fine with what he is getting paid, this will be worked out by the end of the year and Canelo will get last word on his oppinents.

Or, Canelo wants out. If so, this may be all we see of Canelo for a long while.

Why would he sign with PBC many of the fighters he's avoiding are there?

I don't think Canelo, as an individual, is avoiding anyone.
