Why wear gloves? Why have scantioning bodies? Why have rules at all? After all, if two men want to fight, let them fight.

Not much of a boxing argument, is it?

If Tyson went in with a baseball bat, it would produce a certain level of violence, though I hope we'd agree this would be far from acceptable. So I don't find the production of 'a certain level of violence' a compelling argument.

The issue is that they are both shells of their former selves, incapable of producing any true, competitive sporting spectacle.

It is a case of weighing up of the potential upside versus the potential downside.

The potential downside is that someone might get seriously injured in a way that would reflect very poorly on boxing as whole, and even more poorly on whoever gave this fight the go ahead.

The upside is... people make some money. Some fans possibly get to enjoy some nostalgia.

I think that pales against the risks of some old men getting hurt in who-didn't-see-this-coming kind of way that would be a very bad look for the sport.

Your arguments are completely and utterly irrelevant 'The situation is? Two men want to fight, so let them fight.

It is not entirely about nostalgia for me, it is about allowing two men the freedom to exercise their intentions 'It is about giving these two men the freedom to fight'.

You are correct it may be dangerous, but that is life 'That is boxing, as Rocky Balboa stated: Boxing is a metaphor to life'.

HELL YEA ROY!!! Roy still gets drunk and he has been knocked cold too many times. And he was probably drunk when the call for Tyson came in. Now that he is sober, Roy is like WTF did I agree to. It’s like agreeing to go out on a date with a fat ugly woman and you convince yourself it won’t be that bad after you see a picture of her. But the more you go back and look at that picture, the more you think, WTF did I agree too, LMAO!!!!

Jones playing mental possum, trying to get in Mikes head that Jones is gonna fold in the first round.

I wouldn'r be surprised if Roy didn't play some rope-a-dope, some Philly shell counters, and also try to tire Mike out with some bicycle work.

If Mikes smart this time round, he won't so what he did that ended up ruining his career - trying to knock guys heads off their shoulders with one punch - and would love to see Mike work that body - Hmm.. Yeah!

Tyson lost to Danny Williams and Mcbride because they were fkking huge.
I agree about Tyson icing jones in 03 but not the reason why Mike lost to Williams and McBride. Mike decimated big guys in his prime lots of times. He lost because he was way past his prime, partying and doing drugs regularly and wasn't in the right state of mind. In his prime he would've demolished both Williams and McBride.
