Just overall from my general expertise dealing in finance and what I have learned over the years you can tell a lot from the boxers taking fights at the moment.

Those that are taking fights right now when purses are at a huge low compared to recent years likely overstepped on their financial obligations. To simplify it, it means the ones that are taking fights need to money to support their lifestyle. And the ones not taking fights likely have their possessions fully owned and a good amount of the rest of their money still fairly liquid so they draw from without worry.

Do they think the pandemic ignores them and they should be paid just as if everything was peachy and there wasn't what, 8.4% of Americans out of work? (I got that from the googs). You think people got spare cash lying around to pay for an expensive PPV when most were living pay check to paycheck barely able to afford a PPV when they had a job?

I don't know, sometimes I think there needs to be some reconsideration as to understanding what you are worth but putting that in relation to current economic times. If Canelo made 35 million a fight and now he has to settle for, oh I don't know, 10-15 million? That is still probably more than ANY other fighter can get, so why argue it? Man, when you making millions, it's never enough. It's like, no 10 million isn't enough for me to enjoy my life, I NEED to have 35+ million per fight. Crazy how crappy we become when we get more money in our pockets.
      Pay what the contract says.

If i sign for 35 million per fight. Pay me 35 million per fight. Pandemic or not.

If its a pandemic then boxing shouldnt be going on anyway. But if you want me in the ring. Pay me what i signed for. Its simple

I wish my job would say we can't pay you, 19 dollars a hour anymore. Now we gotta pay you 9 dollars because of the pandemic.

      No deal

I can see your overall point, but I wonder if those big purses are ever coming back. There's probably going to be a global depression, the economic good times are over for a while. The question is for how long, and can a fighter really afford to lose a chunk of his prime. Probably not.

Oxygen mask first, fucc everybody else.

People will always talk, this forum gossips like women at the market.

At the end of the day, know your worth, fucc the haters and definitely Fucc sensitivity. Leave that Nonsense for the ******** and progressives that have no fuccing clue what those words mean.

Just like most of this board has no clue what it means to step in the ring.

Respect the fighters and their decisions. Also only listen to what Teofimo Lopez says about Teofimo Lopez for example, fucc anybody else’s thoughts that ain’t Lopez.

The OP is an idiot. Lol

He thinks Canelo is asking for $35mil a fight during the pandemic.

Why are you fueling or misguiding posters in the thread? Lol

Several posters in this thread didn’t even correct the OP. Canelo hasn’t asked for $35mil during the pandemic. He agreed to a 30% cut. DAZN wanted 50%.

My point is. He doesnt have to agree to anything outside of his contract.

True. But it’s better to remind fans that Canelo acknowledged a 30% cut. If you don’t remind fans of this they are confused in believing that the lawsuit is talking about full compensation which it isn’t. Canelo’s team would ideally just want out of the contract or revision. They know they can’t get the money they’re asking for because the fights haven’t even happened. It’s just a way to get alternative settlements.

If Canelo gets out of the contract, that hurts DAZN not only because they won't be able to stream his content but also because others would think twice before doing business with them. Canelo could probably make similar or more money on PPV which he currently can't because of DAZN.
