They think they should get paid the exact same as before the pandemic. People all over the place getting laid off and the behavior of especially the guys at the top is pretty disgusting. I feel bad for the working class fighters though, the undercard guys because they arent getting any fights when the top guys refuse to hold events because they dont want to take "only" a few million instead of ten plus million.

It’s just a way to get alternative settlements.

From what I read so far I still think canelo is being reasonable, his complaint in his lawsuit isnt that the offers are too low, its that DAZN and Goldenboy have flat out refused to even give him any offers on paper in writing the entire year.

Atleast give him a lower offer and then in his court to turn it down, he is saying that they verbally promise this or that fight coming soon and just delay delay and now its September and no contract has reached his desk.

The app sucks balls, I dont know why they cant make the buttons work like every other app. Youtube, netflix they all work the same, I dont even have to think about it, its intuitive on my nvidia shield.

DAZN, i try to pause or back out of a video and it ***ing like closes out everything or ***s up, its such a piece of chit, just use standardized buttons like everyone else.

I can understand fighters not wanting to take fights for less money but if the pandemic persists and the economy stays rough or worsens I think eventually some of these guys will have to reconsider. They might realize it's better to take what they CAN get instead of what they would LIKE to get

Just like most of this board has no clue what it means to step in the ring.

Respect the fighters and their decisions. Also only listen to what Teofimo Lopez says about Teofimo Lopez for example, fucc anybody else’s thoughts that ain’t Lopez.

If there were no fans they would be fighting for free.

always lol when people act like fans cant have opinions beause they arent "in the ring". I didnt make them go fight. Lopez could go be an accountant if he wants. He chosed to prize fight and he last rejected a $1.2 million purse. Id say hes being compensated quite well and yes there is risk taking involved in getting that level of compensation. These guys are prima donnas, the club level and sparring partner guys are taking more damage for peanuts in comparison. To say the people that pay them, us the fans, have no right to an opinion is absurd.

You know how many people are out of work now and he is in the position to turn down $1.2 million contracts.

No. I said "IF" he is asking for that much as in a theoretical theory. I just threw out BS numbers and used Clenelo because he was hot in the news recently. My general OP is about the landscape of boxing and what fighters think they're worth vs what they can be paid in reality right now. That's all this was about.

Were people whom were employed in the USA reduced their wages by 50%? Truth is you didn’t know the facts about the lawsuit. Don’t worry many still don’t get it

Good point with the fans, fans don’t have to be fighters. Right on.

In an ideal world fans would all train like a fighter at least once. It would make for more honest opinions.

It would lead to higher expectations for those fighters that claim to be great and have compassion/ empathy for the warriors putting their life on the line.

Like I tell noobies that can barely hit a heavy bag non stop for 2 minutes. The heavy bag don’t hit back, and starting out you gotta go 3 rds.

Few of us have what it takes. I didn’t which is why I gotta stand up for our warriors that could make it and are making it happen.

I don’t like the entitlement of this new generation. All the talking and hating other fighters to get views and followers.

To Lopez’s credit though we ain’t discussing him, he signed.

That’s why fucc Haney, Garcia, Davis and all these fighters calling out other fighters but never signing contracts.

That’s what I mean by as a former fighter you know when somebodies challenge is full of chit.

Thanks for engaging! You definitely right, everybody who watches a fight should be able to speak on a fight, I’m
                  Just always gonna challenge integrity.

I really makes me think about him resigning to Arum in the first place when that happened. Money over legacy was my first thought.

They should really be using this time as a opportunity.

Fight and get all the exposure, may even build your fan-base.

Somebody like Josh Kelly is not really on the level, where he can just not fight 'He is still abit of a no mark' etc
