I truly think Haney doesn't want the Russel Jr fight

I believe Devin Haney knows that a fight with Gary Russell Jr, at this early stage of his development, is a HUGE mistake...this is possibly Erickson Lubin II. Too early, and a possible career or confidence destroying loss, that could linger.

What I think it is, the FATHER...Devin doesn't want to disappoint his boisterous ...father, so he's gonna go along with this. I just think Russell is gonna smoke this kid, in one of those crushing losses that kills a prospect.

Russell isnt an easy guy to look good against. I believe even against Loma the judges didnt have it super wide, his hand speed impresses judges when hes throwing those shoe shines. And if his hands are okay hes a pretty strong puncher to the head and body.

Not to mention hes freaking game, despite the criticism hes gotten. Hes a dog in there

I'm looking at Haney's boxrec...there's nothing here that could even come close to preparing him for Gary Russell.

Devin Haney is the email champion.

If he didnt absolutely blow GRJ out of the water then its a loss for him. Its the same thing that happened when it was Mikey vs Spence.

I thought Spence was toying with Mikey the whole time just boxing on the outside to an easy UD but some people didn't see it that way.

But again. Gary Russel Jr would be coming up 2 full divisions where he's never fought before fighting a guy who's much bigger than him. His chin is pretty solid. Lomachenko hit him with all sorts of shots and he never fell and kept on throwing those shoe shine punches.

Haney needs to fight some real people, not Gary Russel Jr.

It was so obvious especially how he got emotional over SRL saying Mikey was more skilled. It was the first thing he brought up after the fight. He chose not to use his size and normal tempo. That shyt pissed him off

Honestly...It shouldn't be Devin Haney who has to Fight Gary Russell Jr and it is complete GARBAGE how you have some fans trying to apply Pressure on both of them to fight but did not do that to Leo Santa Cruz, Carl Frampton or Lee Selby to fight Gary when they was all Champions at 126

So No, if I'm Gary I'm not wasting time with a young talented prospect, instead go after the bigger fish. So I'm OK with this fight NOT Happening right now and Gary going on to fight Fortuna and Haney fighting Gamboa for now and they potential cross paths later

Also too, DAZN doesn't seem to be approving much of anything or giving anybody UPDATED on WTF is going on so absolutely NOBODY knows what is next not even Bellator

Put this Same Pressure on Tank to fight Russell Jr!

yeah i dont think he really wants it either..but neither does hearn....hearns just using the old tactic of throwing out a good name along with a gamboas...and will likely give you gamboa or something similar but wants to act like he tried with russell to give them credibility

the reality is that if he were to fight gamboa or someone similar he should be lambasted the same way tank is/was...."hes a champion now blah blah"...and "hes 25 fights into his career and a world champion fighting on a network he needs to step up and stop fighting bums".......but i can guaran****intee haney wont receive the same crap davis does for obvious reasons

If Haney won he would be criticized for even taking the fight. If he got beaten up by a midget, his career would take a long time to recover, if it ever did.

I think it's Hearn that don't want the fight.

They gat Gamboa lined up low risk bigger name opponent.

Yeah, Gamboa is good. Slick, but hates getting hit. Land a couple hard shots, and he'll fold the tent, and call it a night .
