Would Floyd also agree to a 30% cut like Canelo, during a Pandemic, no audience?

I thought Canelo Alvarez' contract with DAZN was guaranteed at $365 mil for 11 fights with at least $30 mil per bout.

I do think Canelo can get a ***** load of money out of the lawsuit but it may be a career ending lawsuit too. By the time it's all settled only the super fans will even give a ***** if he fights again.
I dont think so. Canelo is at the point where he is big enough to promote himself and just contract another promoter on a fight by fight basis like cotto mayweather and even manny is doing now. And if he sours his relationship with gbp Arum would be popping a chubby even at 280 years old just at the thought of getting a piece of canelos ppv sales

Well if that is the case, then I would have to say no he wouldn't. A deal is a deal and if DAZN was that foolish in shelling out that kind of dough for an online subscription streaming service with a marginalized audience then that's on them.

I may be wrong but until the legal battle is over I'm not sure if he can legally fight on another station or for another promoter.

I think you’re confused. Canelo is not suing because he’s not being compensated the full amounts per fight. Industry is passed that. Canelo acknowledged a 30% cut. The reason there’s a lawsuit is because a DAZN and GBP failed to give him dates for 2020 along with a skeptic approval process for what a DAZN feels are justifiable for even the 30% cut fights that include: DLH, Masvidal, Khabib. DAZN was only approving 50% fights with BJS and Smith. Canelo wasn’t having that as well as Matchroom’s guys wanting $5mil each for that budget.

I didnt mean to leave that out but I meant once the case is settled assuming he will be out of his contract. I doubt there will be a situation where he isnt tho I cant imagine there will be much of a working relationship left unless DAZN really makes it up to nelo

These two have the right answers to your questions.

Your flaw in your argument is the fact that Carnelo has a terrible manager and Floyd has a brilliant one.

No your flaw is that you’re acknowledging or ignoring that Canelo agreed to take a cut the same way Messi and Ronaldo did. What’s that got to do with managers? So you’re saying Canelo shouldn’t have accepted nothing less that his minimum of $34mil? If you believe that then unfortunately it proves why PBC kids don’t understand what’s going on with the lawsuit.

Just a reminder. The thread title isn’t rhetorical in that Canelo didn’t accept a 30% cut. He didn’t agree to taking a pay cut. Spin it how you want.

You know how a lot of these guys are.

Al Broker, aka Frankie 2 jabs, aka young bidness already called Haymon’s operation “****** hustle culture”.

Now why would he label it that when haymon has 2 degrees, including an MBA, from Harvard? What “****** hustle” is taught at Harvard Business school?

What it means is that a Harvard MBA has more value in contract negotiations than kitchen utensils stuck up the ass.
