Mikey had not fought at 140 at least at the professional level before he fought Spence. His previous fights were at LW, SLW or Feather. He did have a non title coming-back-from-his-contract-issues fight just under 140 but I hardly count that as he immediately moved down to 130 in the next fight.

I am hoping the Spence Vs Danny fight is good. Both in my eyes have a history of starting slow and Danny has not shown to be good going forward at least at 147. He looks more flat footed and Spence did not impress me with how he Beat Mikey. He should have imposed his size and reach more. I agree that Spence 100% is too big and too strong for Danny, I think that if Spence does come forward aggressively Danny has a chance at landing some nice counter punches. I would give Danny the edge on hand speed but his feet need to learn to move more.

perfect examples....Danny doesn’t engage a lot against the top welterweights.....makes for somewhat dull fights. Definetly won’t b spending any $ on this Ppv.

As Manny Steward said (paraphrasing)... Danny is good, not elite, at all aspects of boxing.

As I've mentioned a few times before, if you're a Swift fan, it's frustrating seeing him let fights slip away... all because of his low punch output. He just has to let his hands go more. Spence will be there for the taking... not realizing the chance he's taking here. Danny can get a solid W here, but he needs to approach this fight as his last chance to prove himself. IMO... it's the only way he'll be assured of a W.

Like I said - Danny refuses to let his hands go against the top welterweights...His fights against Porter and Thurman were rather dull rd after rd...He won’t go toe to toe and constantly holds on the inside. Would definitely pay for Spence/Crawford!!

You are absolutely correct. He doesn't have that drive to succeed in the sport no more.

In addition, he no longer likes to take on the tougher challenges in his era either. He has a long list of fighting and defeating only gatekeepers and overmatched opponents.

He doesn't fight for us fans, legacy, glory or prestige. He is only fighting for the money. It's like I always say; He fights for the least amount of risk for the most amount of money.

You are correct, I was confusing weights with the classes. Some organizations refer to some weight classes differently. Even though Mikey did fight at 140 he went back down in weight class in his fight before the Spence fight. Now you have me thinking why does Mikey fight 2 guys for a belt only to not defend it and move out of the division soon after? Does this guy not like being a champion? Beating Broner................

That is so true. To be honest, I think he is overrated. I really don't think he was ever that good to begin with. He was getting his ass whopped against Amir Khan until he landed a lucky punch and barely defeated Lucas Matthysse.

I think he has really good fundamentals and is pretty text book but the drive......he has no passion it seems. He has no interest, his father has more passion about the sport than he does.
