DAZN approved Callum Smith & BJS for Canelo but not as "premium" guys & wanted to dramatically cut license fee. I'm told DAZN would consider (not joking) De La Hoya, Jorge Masvidal & Khabib "premium" foes even though Oscar is 47, not since '08 & other guys aren't boxers. (more)

I’m sure there be 2 sides of the story coming out....one where dazn insisted on canelo fighting golovkin last year and canelo saying no and facing off with Alvarez ....that’s also breach of contract.
Nobody knows how GBP has behaved in this deal and if they broke contractual promises.
It will all come out in the wash and I am sure DAZN have clauses also especially in a pandemic and social lockdown......didn’t canelo have surgery that also delayed his schedule.

Except Canelo has been willing to do a 3rd fight with Golovkin...a fight with Callum Smith...a fight with Billy Joe Saunders...a fight with Caleb Plant...a fight with Jermall Charlo.

It has been DAZN and/or Golden Boy who have not been able to get any of those bouts across the line for him.

You are absolutely correct! My guess is DAZN ia not approving of anyone because they are broke. The blew the relationship with Canelo from the beginning. Instead of treating him like a star they treated him with disdain and treated an aged, past his prime Golovkin who is at the end of his career better than Canelo, which made no sense.

It is as if DAZN executives took it personal that Canelo beat GGG. They pester Canelo for over a year to fight GGG and Canelo agrees yet GGG refuses to take the fight and Canelo gets the blame instead of GGG. WTF!

It is as if we live in bizarro world. Canelo has fought excellent competition. His bout with Kovalev was a better fight and more important fight than a 3rd fight with GGG. His fight with Jacob's was the best that the middleweight division had to offer at the time.

On the other hand we have GGG who has not had one meaningful big fight yet DAZN continues to allow him to have meaningless fights. His fight against Dervy was good only by accident. He was forced into it and no one thought Dervy had a chance and we all know GGG lost that fight. Now GGG is back to wanting to fight bums every time.

Why does DAZN allow and pay GGG to fight these kind of opponents. It was GGG who rejected the 3rd fight after he demanded yet another tune-up fight.

The truth is without Canelo DAZN cannot survive and will be out of business by the end of the year. It is not hard to make Canelo happy. He will fight anyone and all he expects is his contractual pay. DAZN is broke that is why they are claiming Canelo's proposed opponents are not worth the contractual amount of money that they agreed to pay Canelo.
