Hmm, he won't be fighting Cintron because he's fighting Mark Suarez for the vacant IBF strap on November 11th. He also won't be fighting Clottey as he's fighing Margarito on the same card. Mitchell will probably retire after he gets KO'd by Williams.

Castillo is probably not going to want to fight over 140. If he does, he'd be climbing two weight classes to do so. Also, you're forgetting that Bob Arum lost so much money on the last Chico fight that he probably doesn't want anything to do with JL Castillo.

I believe Margarito is a more beatable opponent for Cotto since Margarito is a bit slower and doesn't have the footwork Williams has. Margo is more of a mexican brawler while Williams is more of a boxer-puncher.

Styles make fights and Williams style is all wrong for a short guy like Cotto or Sharmba.
I gotta disagree with u, I think Margo would be a much tougher fight for Cotto and Cotto is very good coming in and working in the inside which gives him a good chance against Williams

He's good working on the inside when he can get there. He's only fought to guys taller than him, Maussa and Pinto. Both were more than willing to trade with him and didn't try to keep him at the end of their jab. Pinto had a great round in their fight (the 4th, I believe) when he boxed Cotto and kept his jab in Cotto's face. Miguel looked frustrated after that round, but Pinto elected to trade with im in round 5 and paid dearly for it one round later.

If williams does what he did to Matthysse, that is, keep his jab going, double up on it, and hook of the jab, he'll keep Cotto off balance all night long. Cotto's arms are too short and he'd get punished trying to get on the inside.

Margarito is shorter than Williams, he's slower, and he has a MUCH smaller reach than Williams. How is that a tougher match-up? Margo has faced better opposition than Williams, yes, but I still think he's an easier match for Cotto because of style and because of reach.

If this Diaz guy lost to the same ebo elder who got stopped by Michael Stewart on the contender, then no - Stewart got absolutely demolished by Hatton a few years back, and isn't even a third tier fighter.

Why not take on Collazo and beat him more convincingly than Hatton did. That would send out the statement that Cotto can take it at 147 unlike hatton and is ready to fight the big players in the division.

The only fighter I hope Cotto avoids completely is Judah. A focused Judah would KO Miguel I think.

                    Cotto has a decent record,

                    Lovemore Ndo'u
Paul Malignaggi , who might i add was being picked by 68% of boxing writers to beat cotto come fight night
                    DeMarcus Corley
                    Carlos Maussa
                    Victoriano Sosa
                    Gianluca Branco

all decent fighters , but he badly needs to step it up

vivian harris would be a decent fight,
