I think HBO might be a little leery, given his last few bouts, to put him in with a legit Top 10 welter though...

Maybe a David Estrada or Jose Luis Cruz or Cosme Rivera

Collazo is fighting Oct. 7; less than 2 mos. before this one...

Hatton has a date reserved too for the 9th
Isn't Zab doing some jail time soon? Estrada would be a better choice than my pick Oscar Diaz...But it would be a 10 rounder.

      Some other choices...

Andre Berto 14-0 (could agree to 10 rounder)
Delvin Rodriguez 19-1 (seems to have dropped out of his fight)
      Vivian Harris at catch weight

Are you mistaking Cotto for PBF?

Cotto started fighting at 140 and this is the first time he is going up. The reason is bovious dude, his body is still growing and expanding and he has outgrown the weight.

I think that a good choice could be Oscar "El Torito" Diaz...

          - He's a paper champ, so it can be a 12 rounder.
          - 25-1-0 only loss to Ebo Elder.
          - Mexican vs. Puerto Rican.

          Any other thoughts?

Carlos Quintana, Demetrius Hopkins or Joel Julio. Just to let him feel the weight first. Or if he decides to make a big entrance into the 147 scene, fight Urkal.

I dont care who he fights, as long as it is at welterweight. The guy needs to leave 140 immediately.

yah Sharmba Mitchell would be decent stepping stone for Cotto.

A Judah fight would be dangerous for Cotto. Judah isnt cream of the crop but he's elusive and fast. Judah could pull it off.

                      I dont even like Judah.
