    He did what he had to do.

    Wilder and Joshua, fittingly, lost their undefeated records the exact same way; getting clipped to the side of the head during an exchange. Fight was over after the KD in both cases. Ruiz was toying with a wounded animal, which made him look an unbeatable force on the night. Not so.

    Hindsight is 20/20 though; we saw in the second fight that if AJ wanted to, he could coast to the W over the smaller man. He definitely didn't need to be Klitschko-level careful as he was on the night, but his being gunshy was understandable.

    Ruiz is going to be Bermane Stiverne 2.0 when he comes back. He'll go life and death with Arreola. Charles Martin would dominate him. Haymon better not put him in there with Helenius, either.
