Well if it was Haney, yeah they wouldn't need to fight. Haney petitioned for Loma's belt when Loma was elevated to Franchise. It wasn't just handed to Haney, he actively petitioned for it. Never made sense why Haney felt he had a right to the belt and petitioned for it.
It should have been treated as a vacant belt and fought for, just as Campbell and Lomachenko fought for Mikey's vacant belt.
Anyhow Loma said he wants to fight Haney after he fights for the IBF. He wants to fight Haney and Tank, in either order next, if he becomes undisputed. Let's hope Tank will step up finally. Loma has asked for Tank for a few years now, ever since Tank had a belt at 130. Once Tank moved up to 135 Loma again asked for him. Because it's a fight everyone wants to see.
Undisputed overrules every mando, so Haney's yapping wasn't going to get Loma to take an interim fight and risk getting hurt before the biggest prize for undisputed. Haney needs to get in line and get the fight after Loma obtains his goal, if he beats the bigger and more difficult opponent, Teo. Haney is not better than Teo. Loma is one belt away from his goal, as is Teofimo, of sorts, and as any fighter ever in the history in boxing would do, he's not letting Haney's baiting get in the way. Not a one fighter, in the history of boxing, would fight an interim bout when history is on the door steps in the next bout. A risk of injury for one thing. But to nip it in the bud, with all of Haney's bs yapping, he wants Haney right after. Haney has fought zero 5 star fighters in 24 fights. Loma has fought 8 in 15 fights and is about to fight his 9th in 16 fights.
