He’s a bum..the bottom line is he hand picked a 40 year old has been ...and got knocked out and if it wasn’t for the corrupt judges and refs he’d have 3 more loses on his record but let him fight the rematch because he’ll get knocked out again

Dillian you ought to listen to this man Michael Hunter! He performed better against Povetkin him than you. He was robbed of a decision victory over him and came very close to stopping him. Where as you were knocked cold on your ass by him.

AJ is tied up Pukev, then hopefully 2 x fights with Fury and there's also Usyk to factor in. So that only leaves Ortiz and Parker on your list and they're about as commercially appealing as a Hughie Fury, Okolie catchweight fight!
Poverkin isn't a bigger draw than Parker or ortiz. Especially now since he beat Whyte so convincingly.

There was little interest in first fight, the stadium was almost empty, and will be less interest in 2nd fight.

Honestly, the Povetkin fight will do far better UK PPV numbers than an Ortiz or Parker fight because of the first fight. 4 and a bit rounds of action with 3 knock downs and a KO to savour. Plus there's a WBC mando at stake which if he wins back and keeps hold of will get him a money spinning shot at whoever comes out on top against Pulev, AJ, Wilder and Fury.

It's a no brainer from a career and commercial point of view. If Whyte was to turn his back on this shot and fight Parker or Ortiz (who let's face it generates zero interest/value in the UK for PPV) then it could take a couple of years to get back in the mix. At his age now, he just doesn't have that time to loaf away.

The only reason why there wasn't a significant gate in Essex was obviously down to Covid but that may well change for the rematch.

Whyte got confirmed as b grade at best the instant he got ko'd by povetkin. Something most people already knew.

He's probably the most hated heavyweight in the world.

I don't think hated B grade journeymen whyte vs 40 year old Povetkin is a money maker. Definitely not 2nd time round.

You might be right, he's not everyone's favourite and I don't imagine many folk lost sleep when Povetkin pressed the snooze button, but I'll thoroughly enjoyed watching that scrap.

It's a division that's not exactly packed with talent either so there's definitely room for a character like Whyte.

If the rematch ever happened, Whyte will not go near Povetkin. He would try to box from the outside and attempt to win by UD. There's no way Povetkin will not catch him again if he fights in the inside
