Pov landed some decent punches and was competitive through out fight.

Pov is a fragile 40 year old, so hardly surprising he went down briefly when punched.

But even at 40 he was far too good for hype job Whyte.

WHAT??? The one who was doing nothing was Whyte! That's actually why Povetkin got Kd twice... He punishing Whyte to body and head with power shots, and nothing was coming back! Pov got overconfident and paid the price. But he was never seriously hurt, although the 2nd kd was harder.

You need to rewatch the fight...

Povetkin’s confidence will have grown in the rematch and likely will set up that same shot with a feint but then hit Whyte with a different shot cuz Whyte will be expecting that uppercut again!

            He was not "throughly outclassed".

It was a fairly even fight and it went PRECISELY how Povetkin expected it to. The ENTIRE plan was to land that upper cut... this is why Povetkin looked as he did.

Yes, he did get caught in the 4th... but he was perfectly fine.

The entire fight was leading up to that KO punch.

Why should have expected that Upper cut the entire time...

He should have learned after being KOed or KDed with the same punch by AJ, Parker and Rivas.

I expect the rematch will go the same way.

If the doctors clear him, it's not to soon. Why are some fight fans so against instant rematches ?

Why would he fight those guys though when he not only gets paid more for rematching Povetkin but if he beats him he regains his WBC mando status?

AJ is tied up Pukev, then hopefully 2 x fights with Fury and there's also Usyk to factor in. So that only leaves Ortiz and Parker on your list and they're about as commercially appealing as a Hughie Fury, Okolie catchweight fight!

Scorecards and punch output/landed state otherwise. But its all good. Whyte got his comeuppance....
