Hostage in a sense that those are really just Furys belts, ready for recuperation. Hostage in a sense that everyone who is a belt holder in the division who isn't named Tyson Fury, is a paper champion. Hostage in a sense that anyone who dares stand before Fury and undisputed, is a dead man walking.

If he beats 2-3 more high-level, name guys, then I guess he can have a shot at ATG. He's 33, so he should have the time do so.

He’s an ATG right now even if he doesn’t fight anymore, his name will be remembered forever especially after this last fight. I don’t rate him at all as a boxer, but what he has accomplished and the wars he has been in, a definite ATG.

But that doesn’t mean, he’s the best ever, he’s just at ATG, top 30 HWs of all time. If he beats Usyk for undisputed then he’s top 10 all time, if he also beats AJ then he’s The greatest of all time.

I like how you leave the window open for possibility.

I think he fights the winner of the rematch and probably Wallin again first. AJ vs Fury is always a money fight in the UK because I feel the UK don't rate you lower for taking a loss, whereas casuals in the US act like you're a lesser fighter because of it. I think we get that fight.

Too early to say, if he beats more top contenders like Whyte and becomes undisputed, I would say yes. If he goes back to drinking and snorting and retires today, no.

If he retires, yes. On paper, he's huge, quick hands, can fight, can box, undefeated.

If he keeps fighting, much less likely as, like everyone else, be will probably lose at some point.

Its funny how each generation of fans will tout their generations best as being ATG, Ive lived and seen many eras of boxing I don't think the super HWs of the last 10 years are ATG material, they are the best of the biggest, with pound for pound boxing ability they not as good as historys smaller ATG HWs, in my eyes the super HW started with Lennox Lewis, they just got bigger not better.
