Also, the way people get nostalgic over older era’s will always exist. I bet pretty much everyone on this forum in 25 years time will be telling people fighters in that current era wouldn’t have beaten Fury.

Best of an era does not mean ATG, to me he doesnt have the resume as its a poor era and I only really see the size, as in boxing ability he is not that good ability wise against the better skilled faster smaller ATGs, a 270 lb Holyfield would stop him, a 270 lb Ali would give a lesson on how to copy him, Im in no way saying Fury is not the best of era but I see him and other modern guys like him as just big, bring them down in size to 220-240 and they would be eaten by real sharks.

And I dont say this about other divisions because they are fighting the same weights as they were 100 yrs ago, boxing is about men fighting at the same weight, a fight is very much about size thats why they have weight classes, todays HWs are way outside the size and weights of former great HWs, its not nostalgia its pound for pound fighting, not who can be the biggest Goliath beating on smaller guys and looking killers, and then two Goliaths looking competitive to each other,, they are big they are not ATGs, maybe in 20 yrs Fury is small and the Goliath of that days fans are touting how easy he would beat fury.

Drop all the size and resume and just look at the pound for pound fighting, the best boxers are between 130-175, this the range of the perfect human athlete, to me its the fighting can the guy really fight, can he beat that guy, if not then the other dude is better, if he cant because of size it dont count, with me its always been the fighting and I judge them like I would racehorse on a racetrack, I look at the machine the rest dont matter to me.

Hostage in a sense that those are really just Furys belts, ready for recuperation. Hostage in a sense that everyone who is a belt holder in the division who isn't named Tyson Fury, is a paper champion. I think hes too much of a gym rat and student of the game to actually regress in some way like that. He spars when he isn't in camp, hes a fighter, he loves to fight. He isn't some fighter who tries to gather courage on the way to the ring before a big fight, it's just another day at the office. He's a man who was born to fight, not someone who came to boxing as plan B.

Honestly I can't wait for him to fight someone other than Wilder. I love his creativity, prowess, and showboating, whether it's Usyk, Wallin again, Whyte, AJ, or someone else, I think it will be a clinic. You never know what he will do in the ring, and I say that as a compliment.

Because that's actually a possibility. There has never been a fighter like him and probably never will be again. And boxing has no grown since the golden era, it isn't the golden era because of nostalgia, its golden because the sport was globally at its peak. More knowledge has been lost than gained. The average fighter is poor, technically and stamina wise, compared to the past.

Fury is a special fighter and you may disagree with me today, but I really hope you realize it in your lifetime.

Well I’d pick Fury head to head against anyone in history. I think he would’ve given any of the greats absolute nightmares.

He will be considered an ATG for sure.

Would I say the greatest? - there’s too many factors of what defines the greatest, it’s very subjective but head to head, I’d fancy Fury against anybody throughout history.
