Comments Thread For: Warren Explains it's Crazy To Throw Whyte Right Back in With Povetkin

Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, believes it's a big mistake to throw Dillian Whyte right back into a rematch with Alexander Povetkin in two months time. Last weekend, Whyte was brutally knocked out cold in the fifth round by Povetkin.

Frank needs to be focusing on the quality of his shows, last night was a farce! When all your guys are 1/100 to win it’s ridiculous!

I don't know, Whyte was doing well. Let him take the rematch. Hope it's the same result. Pov did well setting the traps and body work. sky have claimed lucky punch.

Dillian has absolutely no choice but to rematch. Logically by taking any other fight he takes a huge step back in his career , by rematching if he wins then he would be right back up there with a shot opportunity at a title.

In terms of can he beat Povetkin? Well, he is already a favourite with the bookies in a rematch and was obviously winning the fight. Could he lose, well obviously he could do too - Povetkin is still a quality fighter; but nobody with whytes career in mind would suggest any other alternative

Crazy was the shyt that i saw on bt last night! That cruiserweight they had in with ddd wouldnt even be called for a sparring partner let alone a fight. Crazy is putting the health at risk of these complete unranked no hoper pub level fighters and sticking them in with the likes of the supposed next generations ruler of the h.w division. And to think Frank locked dubois into a 5 year contract recently...

Warren throwing Dboi in with Joe, when he hasn't faced anybody near Joe's caliber, is certifiable. I don't think he really meant the fight to happen, it may not. About the fifth round, it will be slow Joe vs slow Dboi.

Is Joe just a DDD sacrifice? Or is Fish Eyes really putting a competitive fight on?
