Why does no one question Pacs legacy for getting knocked out by JMM?
Because they fought four times and Marquez was a great fighter, not just some 39-year old.
Everyone says he was in his prime, yet he got KOed cold by a 39 year old. The same fighter that Floyd schooled 2 years earlier.
Manny Pacquiao was at his best from 2008-2010. He was still great in 2012 but there was a clear dropoff, starting with the Mosley fight in 2011. Yes, Floyd did school Marquez, however styles make fights and Marquez got one shot at Mayweather, not four.
What makes yall think Pac coulda beat Floyd during that time if he couldnt even beat JMM?
For the record, I always thought Floyd would win because of his defense and reach advantage. With that being said, Manny was extremely explosive and he actually did beat Marquez during his peak years (2008-2010). It was close but he beat him clean). For me the intrigue of the fight would have been whether Manny could speed Floyd up with his rapid fire attack. I know critics say that Floyd got an old Manny but if that's the case then Manny got an old Floyd too. Manny did have some tough fights but Floyd was inactive and that hurts you too. When I factor all that in, I think we would have seen a fight similar to what we saw in 2015 but at a faster pace. Perhaps Manny lands a few more straight lefts but Mayweather would have been even faster on his feet to control distance.
That's just my two cents'
