The hate for Whyte on here is strange. He takes risky fights constantly, even when it risks his mandatory status. If all fighters were like him the sport would be in a better position.

Whyte looked like a basic plodder. A fairly big guy who got a couple flash knockdowns that didn't mean anything aside from the scorecard. Povetkin wasn't hurt in the slightest, maybe he was off-balance on them. He's lucky Povetkin is 40+ or he wouldn't have a chance in the rematch. Whyte looks like a club-level fighter.

This druggie and cheat knows his days are numbered. He ought to have been suspended again. Hope he gets his lights sparked out again. Cheats put others at risk.

Pitty more fighters are not like him by talking risky fights. Isn't UFC all about that?
The fight probably went way better, esp. KDs, than he expected, lost focus, maybe even thinking how to impress Joshua, who was sitting behind his back, by getting rid of Povetkin earlier......****!

Lol, did the exact same thing after the 3rd round. The bias commentary sells the idea that something that might not be happening is happening, hence why I've seen loads of idiots saying Whyte won all 4 rounds. Maybe Whyte did, but we all know why he would have won all 4 rounds if that was the case, Eddie's fighters getting gifts no surprise here.

If i was Povetkin i would ask for the rematch in Russia if not do a Tyson Fury and retire he has nothing left to proof and cap a great career apart from the payday why rematch him ?

Because he has a contract either he is a businessman which or a fighter.

These rematch clause should be for elite champions

Amen. I'm not even a Whyte fan, but I give kudos to him for always taking on the best opposition possible. If Fury was like that, he definitely wouldn't be undefeated. And Wilder would have more than one loss. But overall the sport would be better to watch.

When you take your thoughts on the fighters aside boxing needs more truly competitive fights, this one was. Therefore everyone should be looking forward to the rematch.

When a guy takes a long beating, most don't come back, but a one punch KO and he doesn't even remember it. Damage is done just the same, your brain isn't designed to be disconnected. The switch gets easier to flip.
