Comments Thread For: Bellew Believes Whyte's Career is On The Line in Povetkin Rematch

Fr. Everytime someone takes a loss, it's made out to be like their career is over or their career is on the line. The man only has 2 losses. If the guy had like 5 or 6 losses then yea we could say something like that maybe. He can bounce back and get back to where he was at again. He was dominating the fight and then got caught with big shot. They're HWs. One clean shot from a HW can end the night.Comment

Would be interesting to see how Whyte fights in the rematch. Pov looked shot but was still working the body well and Whyte might not want to engage again and try to box. Hope Povetkin does win again or sits it out and get a payday for a mandatory title fightComment

Povetkin did look pretty shot tho, difficult to say.
I don't think he sits the rematch out, he's nearly 41, he'll grab some more PPV money and then if he wins, perhaps he gets the winner of Fury - AJComment

Why was the KO a shocker? Whyte had been KO'd once before and dropped numerous times. Heck, if Parker had about forty seconds more in Round 12, he would have stopped Whyte. It's still shameful what the WBC did to him.Comment

Calm down people.
In this business just about any fight is a CROSS ROADS fight.
Last week Povetkin the 40 year old was on the outside looking in.
A week later Whyte is in pretty much the same position.
Win your next fight and do it impressively and you are back in business.
Happens ALLLLLL THE TIME.
Any body heard of Wilder, Ruiz , Kownacki etc lately ....
Whyte will be just fine
Boxing or any sport would not be fun if every outcome was predictable.
calm down haters calm down.Comment

I think it's largely because Povetkin looked totally shot, against Hunter he was awful, no stamina. Povetkin five years ago would've been a big favourite against this version of Whyte.Comment

When I watched the fight live I thought whyte dominated but after re watching povetkin done some great workComment
