Very few hit hard with damn near every punch the way Smith d Smith oes. his punches are also fairly fast and accurate. He beat the hell out of Alvarez round after round. Bivol easily beat him but Bivol easily beats everyone he has ever fought. Smith hurt Bivol and nobody else has ever hurt Bivol. Smith always attacks and has a high work rate and puts tremendous pessure on his opponents and usually knocks them out. He can knock guys out with one punch or a number of punches. he has been outboxed and beat a few times but I think he is better now. I think only Beterbiev and Bivol can beat him and he probably beats the rest at 175. His defense has improved a lot.
    Nah, he's limited

He peaked when he was the white boy that launched the racist Cheatkins out of the ring and retired him

That said, I knew he had a chance against Alvarez and think he would KO Kovalev easily at this point. Beterbiev is another story

I picked him in that one too!

He did fight almost the whole fight with a broken jaw tho so it kinda made sense that he was off his game

I give him a legit shot to win a rematch

175 is not really a great division, but he can`t be a world champ even there.
Bivol, Beterbiev, Cornelo and Kovalev would disagree with that

I just thought he’d catch him, I think he dropped him early but then got soundly outboxed.

Yeah, once he got his jaw broken (probably a fluke)

Would love to see him fight Beterbiev. I know he would be a huge underdog , but it would be fun while it last. He can crack and Beterbiev has been down a couple of times. Canelo would school him. Bivol beat him but he had that one outburst that hurt Bivol pretty good. He would drill Kovalev now.

Always 20/20 hindsight but I also picked Alvarez and like
Many including Vegas were Miserably wrong.

Smith is exactly what you said, a very strong and determined fighter with limited ability, but a determination that’s very rare today. That’s what makes Joe Smith special, the intangibles.

But he’s still a very limited fighter a notch below elite.

He should lose to Beterbiev and already lost to Bivol but can beat Jack, Pascal and Zurdo Ramirez.
