    Marquez easily.
But PAC was knocked out twice by scrubs before Marquez’s KO, and it took Marquez 4 tries. 42 rounds to adjust?

People don't understand what technically means. In terms of boxing, think of it as scientific or methodical.
Povetkin's KO was a perfect punch, made possible by excellent footwork and delivered with all the power the Russian was capable of.
Marquez's KO was a great punch but it was made possible more by Pac's recklessness than any technical
      expertise by JMM.

Marquez didn't actually make any technical adjustments to KO Manny. He threw the same right hand counter he'd already thrown 100s of times in over 40 rounds vs Manny, only that one time, Manny misjudged his attack and literally jumped face first right onto Marquez's fist!

Povetkin had been trying to land left hooks on Whyte for 4 rounds, which Whyte was reading and blocking. In the 5th, Sasha deliberately suckered Whyte into thinking he was trying to set up another left hook by weaving in and dipping down to his left, then he altered the trajectory of his punch and turned it into a perfectly delivered uppercut, up through the middle of Whyte's guard and onto his chin.
        Well said...

Pac got caught for being overly aggressive. Whyte got caught for being too laidback.

Povetkin's knockout was a lot more crisp and clean because he set Whyte up for that one and he bit on it.

Marquez's knockout of Pacquiao was mainly due to Pacquiao's carelessness rather than Marquez setting something up. Not only double feinting but jumping in on a guy that is loading up his right hand.

Pacquiao is levels above Whyte but he made a very amateur mistake that led to him getting knocked out. Really embarrassing on his end for a fighter so skilled.

It took Marquez years of fighting and studying Pacquiao. It took pedvetkin a few rounds.

On the other hand, you’re comparing one of the best ever to some fat loudmouth.

Povetkin was definitely better. He baited whyte into throwing that right cross and countered it beautifully. Marquez threw that same punch in desperation a few times prior to landing it.

I didn't vote because I see no difference in the KOs. nobody made any big adjustment. In both cases they timed their opponent with a perfect accurate powerful punch the opponent never saw. A tie.

The question has nothing to do with who beat a greater fighter... The correct answer is of course "Povetkin".. Marquez took a chancy shot-(in the dark) and never even saw the punch land, as his head was going past Pacquiao's body, and he couldn't see where he was punching.

Povetkin, on he other hand, was very cool-even after the two KDs (where he got up instantly), watched his opponent very carefully, shifted to the centre and delivered the perfect punch, between his opponent's arms, watching it land all the way.

                    Just my Considered Opinion.
didn't the lucky shot hypothesis run out of steam nearly 8 years ago?

Pov's punch required greater technique to pull off.

Try throwing a jab, slipping, and closing with a left uppercut. More steps and a harder punch to throw.

I would say that Marquez punch required greater timing. Pov set his punch up. Marquez was looking to land that punch earlier on in the fight and got the timing just right at the end.
