I NEVER thought Whyte was world class, HW beating elite talent. But his resume in an era of top flight talent avoiding other top flight talent, is decent. He did try to get Wilder to give him his shot, he did challenge Ruiz, and then he did settle on a respected fighter we all knew had a chance to beat him in Povetkin. Does anyone really think Ruiz is challenging himself with Arreola who was a "B" level fighter in his prime and is 3 years well removed from that?

I do remember Whyte skipping silently past Luis Ortiz challenge, so Whyte is not as pure as the driven snow on avoiding fighters. But I dig his Joshua and Povetkin losses, and wins over Chisora (twice), Parker, and Oscar Rivas (who at least was ranked in the top 10 of most standings when they fought) and Lucas Browne (who at least was a fighter with a pulse and power, even if he is a club fighter) over most other HW resumes.
No one had rivas in top 10, prior to fighting whyte. No one had even heard of him.

But ironically a loss to whyte seems to have pushed him up the rankings.

Ruiz, Fury and Wilder are all three chumps for championing a guys KO...a guy that they all three ran from. Now they are acting like 3 little beeches

I was one of the guys who praised him I thought he shown the Mexican spirit of hard work and humbleness. I was totally wrong, There must be something in the water that they give them at PBC. The man literally would have earn minimum 4M dollars from what we know in a Whyte fight.

But he is here "Happy" that his potential earning got KO'ed Which means going back to earning maximum 400K against the Arreolas of these world... The same man that talked about almost quitting before the AJ payday, same guy that talked about not having money.

Since that AJ first payday, he has changed to what i never thought he would. I was definitely ****** to think he was this humble dude.

Andy knew the fix was in for the rematch, Hearn did everything he could to let him know. Even then Andy had no fear, he knew he had AJ on the run and another payday coming. Ex out Whyte, Povetkin just upped his value. I can see Andy getting 4 mil for Pov, maybe more if it goes to bid.

I'm glad Povetkin won.Im not a big fan of Whyte. But why is Ruiz gloating. He lost the title in hes last fight by disgracing himself. He came in even fatter than usual, lost a shutout, then in the post fight interview admitted he hadn't tried hes best and called for a rematch. He hasn't redeemed himself yet. At least Whyte trained for hes fight and just come unstuck.

I may be wrong here because I'm only going on memory, but didn't Whyte slaughter Ruiz, calling him all names under the sun after his loss to AJ?..

Yeah, its true. I just think Ruiz surrendered he's title in such a bad way, he needs to sort himself out first. I paid 25 quid to watch him walk around in quicksand for 12 rounds, and announce at the end how he didn't bother training or trying to eat right but wanted fight three. I think that's worse than what happened with Whyte.
