Povetkin was the highest ranked guy available . It was also an easy fight to make both are promoted by Hearn or co promoted it’s a match any boxing fan would have wanted to see .It goes back to my own thread on here ,you guys want to know who defeats who but when a fighter loses it’s like a shock ? The forum was ready to jump on a Whyte win and say Povetkin was shot. Ha

Many would disagree with that sentiment that Whyte wanted the fight, but i'm not to rehash that argument. Fact of the matter, we can't put somebody down for taking the same action as someone else, and claim that it's okayComment

Most boxing fans are full of shet and have an agenda, which is why they continually revise history and/or move the goalposts. I was shocked Whyte got pancaked, but he takes tough fights at least. Fat Andy is fighting the punching bag known as Arreola next. Need I say more?Comment

a mexican former heavyweight champion fighting on tv in the usa needed dillian white to get paid. dillian white not aj, not fury. dillian white
on fox in the usa. really. what world are you living in. i was trying to get some usa casuals to laugh at dillian getting ko'd and almost all of the casuals had no idea who the hell it was getting ko'd.Comment

ANYONE huh anyone. i guess ortiz, breazelle, pulev, joyce, dubois all count as no one then.
i don't think he was really going to fight ruiz either. they made the offer knowing that ruiz had no manager or trainer and was in limbo. once ruiz signed with reynoso. the offers suddenly went cricketsComment

Ruiz cosigning after the Whyte knockout is a chump move. But it's to be expected from a fat, lazy boxer who ate his chances away last year. And to think, a lot of you idiots were praising him after the first AJ fight. Now hes back to fighting the Arreolas on free TV cards. Ruiz, Fury and Wilder are all three chumps for championing a guys KO...a guy that they all three ran from. Now they are acting like 3 little beechesLast edited by Tyistall; 08-24-2020, 11:45 PM.Comment

Lack of urgency or conditioning killed Whyte.
Whyte was made to wait too long as a mandatory and just gave the ultimate excuse for people not to fight him, he lost. Had he annihilated everyone like he did with Lucas Browne in his fights since the Joshua loss he'd have already gotten his title shot already. What fighters with a killer instinct do when they feel like a person is ready to go and the bell lets the person off the hook is as soon as the next bell rings they go for the kill. There was no reason why he should have allowed Povetkin to step to him the next round unless like I suspect in most of his fights what he does to condition himself before fights is and has always been very suspect. He got lazy and got caught no different than what would have happened with the fighters rated above him. If he wants his position back get in shape and annihilate Povetkin in the rematch quickly, stay in shape, and start destroying people like he did with Browne then he will get his shot by the end of next year. I do fear being ko'd like that took a lot of punch resistance off that chin for future fights.Comment

Agree with you. Anyone over 35 can't be in his prime if he had been doing that for over 10 years. For both fights, Povetkin is on the down now. Both fights he isn't quite at his peak anymore, still a good fighter but they aren't fighting the same guy that Wladimir beat. You fight for so long and Povetkin has had a long career those miles start to add up hence why he got dropped by a guy like Whyte and found himself even being hurt by Price.
I view it like this, a win over Povetkin even in his 40's is still a good win but lets not kid ourselves and say they beat him at his best. Similar to Marciano and Joe Louis.Comment
