Missing a day here or there was never a problem until the Canelo fight. Not buying it.

I got on a great source that D’Chenko isn’t the same guy. That Golovkin fight took a LOT out of both fighters and he hasn’t been looking the same in camp.

I think Derevyanchenko powers past Charlo... systematically, round by round. May even stop him. But at the very least, Charlo will definitely know he's been at war. I just don't think he has the talent/experience to retain the belt.

I love boxing but it gets harder and harder to defend this circus of a sport.
What are you talking about? This is a solid ppv. Two real deal championship fights. The best fighting the best in their prime. What more could you possibly want? To me this is what boxing is all about.

If Canelo was a true warrior he'd be salivating at the mouth to challenge the winner of Derevychenko vs Charlo, but we all know instead team Canelo only looks for easy money and doesn't want a real challenge.

I like Charlo but he has talked for a few years now and hasn’t fought anyone. For all his talking this should be a cake walk. I don’t expect anything less than a dominant performance otherwise that lion moniker should be changed to koala bear

Some fighters demand massive guaranteed purse and that often makes even PPVs impossible. Recently Keith Thurman demanded 10 million + and insisted the promoter pay for it knowing the numbers weren't there but that was more of a ploy to stay relative.

In this particular fight I don't believe the guaranteed purse is half of what Thurman demanded and still the PPV model may not be enough. But hey, they knowingly took the PPV risk because the fighters actually want the fight.

I don't think it's PPV worthy but I'll pay just to support a competitive fight in these difficult times.
It is ppv worthy when you consider that Jermell vs Rosario, where four belts are being unified, is a CO main event.

With that being said, this is a tough fight to call, but I lean towards Sergey because he's faced top level opposition and Jermall has not. Jermall has a great chin and great skills, but I remember how he struggled vs. 77 year old Korobov. Derevyanchenko has a much deeper tool box and better engine than Korobov. I wonder when loudmouth Eubank Jr. is going to push for a big fight instead of running his mouth.
I think your comparison has a major flaw.

As they say, the devil is in the details.

First of, Koborov been training for Charlo for years! Google it! Koborov has been obsessed with Jermall since Jermall was still at 154 calling him out and more importantly, bragging about having the perfect game plan to beat Jermall. This is before Jermall even became a champion. He was looking at Jermall and training for him since he was still a prospect.

Secondly, the fight was short notice. Jermall was supposed to fight Monroe but ended up with Koborov.

Thirdly, Koborov is a slick, defensive, cagey, counter punching southpaw. Derevyanchenko has none of those qualities. If you watched the Trout fight, you'll see that Charlo has the most trouble against that kind of style, which is not Derevyanchenko's style.

Finally, Derevyanchenko is a very aggressive, offensive fighter, that is actually the style that Jermall thrives against because he doesn't have to come looking for you to land his power. He is very good at catching people mid combo and hurting them bad when he does.

Notice that Trout and Koborov didn't throw combos it was ones and one twos and then clinch or run away and then one and one two again, rince and repeat.

Derevyanchenko won't be fighting that style unless he completely changes his style for this fight.

Still, it should be an interesting fight.
