  • Comments Thread For: Whyte: No Regrets About Fighting Povetkin; I Will Handle Business In Rematch

Dillian Whyte won't lament taking one dangerous heavyweight fight too many before finally getting his shot at the WBC title. Whyte instead expressed eagerness to avenge his second professional loss as soon as possible the day after Alexander Povetkin knocked him unconscious in the fifth round Saturday night in Brentwood, England. London's Whyte is confident he'll emerge victorious from their immediate rematch because he was winning their bout before Povetkin unloaded a perfect left uppercut that knocked Whyte out cold at Matchroom Boxing's headquarters.

If you cannot handle a 41 yr old, you might as well say good bye to the sports or just fight journeymen.

Self belief leads to taking chances by facing dangerous opposition. Fans of the PBC will not understand that.

I would t say Povetkin was on his last leg. Yes whyte was winning but Povetkin was competitive.

Once again Hearn holds up the division with a rematch clause. Pov deserves the mandatory spot.
It would be like united loosing to spurs not liking the result & invoking a rematch clause making the rest of the division wait. It's farcical.
What fans are left that want to see Fury vs Whyte now if he does get the W in the rematch.
              Get undesputed on asap.
Wilders vanished & pulev... Another old man with a mando spot for fighting who? Fury light, booker, dinu gtfoh!

Whyte is all mouth and no action. This was no upset. Boxing followers were brainwashed by Whyte bs that he was going to be the next heavyweight star. Whyte proved he is not in the top heavy class. Any of the tops would dispose of him easily. Ruiz would pick him apart also.

I believe you might win in the rematch, but for the moment, you're just a knocked out victim. Take some time and really decide if you need this rematch. If it ends the same way, you are done done.

Why not do it again? What's not to like about both fighters hitting the deck, 3 knockdowns, and a textbook KO in just over 4 rounds? Thoroughly enjoyed it.
