Whyte does have a rematch clause....rematch in December?

After a devestating KO loss that he suffered in this fight. Wouldn't it be better for Whyte to take some time off and come back next year?

Not even sure Whyte will be the same fighter after this loss. That was a left uppercut from hell.

He'll be a betting favourite... and I think he'll run it straight back.

To be fair, it was one incredible shot. Easier to deal with mentally than being comprehensively beaten up and knocked out.

The mandatory shot is by Febuary, if they run it back at december snd Whyte wins it, he may still get that shot.

Whyte took a huge shot against Joshua and was hurt badly and came back just fine. Maybe he's one of those guys that can recover after massive KOs. If he wants the immediate rematch, give it to him!

Mandatory will be whoever Fury or Wilder says it is.

When did the WBC last call a mandatory that you could call 'proper'?

Would be a great betting fight, maybe it's what Whyte needed to smarten him up ... very happy for Povetkin as well, what a shot!...

I think Povetkin may KO him again, if not it would mean Whyte being smarter, as he has always been a bit clumsy in close quarters.

Maybe this whole covid era is good for boxing, with boxers no longer having the luxury of cherry picking (have to give Whyte credit for taking this fight).

Id think he would need at least 6 months for that concussion. If he isnt concussed then I'm shocked. After that shock anf awe he should think long and hard about a rematch

Rematch? If I'm Povetkin and I'm 40 years old...I'm Cashing In that shot at the WBC Championship why waste time he doesn't have with a rematch for Dillian Whyte

Dillian lost Interim and no beatin Povetkin doesn't automatically makes him Interim again I don't think. Somebody would have to interview Mr. Sulaiman and ask him how that would work but I don't think it works as simple as that. He lost to the #9 in the WBC Rankings so next WBC Rankings Update White will fall hard in the Rankings but we shall see

Losing to a Champion is one thing, losing to a Contender/Challenger is different. Guys lose to the Champion and not fall very far in the next updated Rankings but when you're #1 Interim and you lose to the #9 Contender that is different you have to work your way back up.

Beyond Rankings and Status, Healthy Wise...I doubt he will be ready by December after that knockout. Take the rest of the YEAR Off and humble yourself!

why did he even fight povetkin? was he forced to or something? i havent been following the politics of things lately but people said he was cherry picking but couldnt he have fought a random bum instead and not the #6 ranked guy in the world? doesnt really scream cherry picking to me but once again i dont know the politics. was this an eliminator?

Imagine putting a rematch clause when there is ZERO title at risk, just a mando shot... This is beyond pathetic. Disgusting and awful practice from that big twat Eddie Hearn.
