And Floyd dominated Mitchell, Hatton had serious trouble with Collazo.
I'm not knocking the point of the article, it's just that you can't go a single day on here sometimes without someone posting a "Yo, Hatton sucks, he needs to prove himself to us Americans" article.
I don't even like the pasty-faced ****, but it's the parochial insular arrogance that rankles.
Zoo showed he wasnt a true champion anymore that night.
No reason to quit on his stool, he just didnt want it any more.
I was very dissapointed.
At last from sense.
Tszyu's entire legacy was smashed into a pair of tap dancing shoes on Australian reality TV by Hatton's damaging blows. I've heard he can now be seen outside Sydney Central station tap dancing outside the bus shelter, one eye blinking uncontrollably, one hand clutching a bottle of Toohey's, the other inside his underwear. A real champion doesn't quite because it's not going his way. Tszyu and Gatti have tarnished boxing's image.
Anyone who thinks that Hatton got gifted the decision against Collazo has no credibility. It was a close decision, but totally unanimous. Look at the stats: unequivocal. All Collazo did was land a lot of jabs. The endless American moaning about that decision is just completely previous. Hatton stepped up, and took the belt off him. Admirable. He's not entitled to a rematch just because it was close.
Time to stick on Come Dancing again for another good laugh.
Do you not remember that Zab Judah was the undisputed welterweight champ and many were picking him to not only beat, but KO Floyd.
Then the Baldomir fight happened, and Floyd called out Hatton again before he accepted the Judah fight, but Hatton declined.
Floyd is about to become linear champ at 147, why would he fight Hatton at 140 when he has Mosley and DlH on the horizion??
Youve pointed out 4 times where Floyd offered Ricky a fight and Ricky declined, yet you still blame Floyd for the fight not happening.
That's a new one to me. Hatton did accept his 2nd offer, but for early 2006. Floyd declined and chose to go to 147, so yes I mainly blamed him. I guess it's really about neither fighter wanting to bend over to the other, so maybe I was being harsh.

I hear that, and im sick of that **** too.
I actully like Hatton, i went to see the Collazo fight.
I just cant stand people claiming that Floyd is ducking Hatton, or blaming him that they didnt fight.
You will never hear me say that Ricky is ducking Floyd until another fool attempts to claim Floyd is ducking Ricky, even though all evidence points to the opposite.

Hatton never accepted a Floyd fight, at least not to my knowledge.
Do you have a link?

How has Gatti tarnished boxing's image?
But yes, I had Hatton wininng the Collazo fight, but it was close, much closer than it should have been. Collazo also hurt Hatton pretty badly. I would like to see a rematch, but not now.
Maybe after both fighters have good wins against other opposition.

thats true, but i wouldnt say hatton is "ducking" mayweather either. He is simply avoiding him until he is ready. Eventually they will fight, and if 2 fighters are gonna meet then u cant say they were ducking eachother or something
and here's another thing people, fighters dont gain fans just because they are good. i am a hatton fan because i like his style. i find his style and fights to be the most entertaining out there. its all in personal preference, and thats why hatton has so many fans.
Even if he ends up losing to URANGO (somehow) and fights only bums the rest of his career, he will still have TONS of fans because he is a great person and an exciting fighter. But of coarse, hes gonna keep on fighting the best, another respectable thinga bout hatton
Where has all this Hate for Tzu come from. Tzu nor Gatti have disgraced boxing. Tzu was outmuscled and out hustled that fight. It was too much for the 35year old Tzu that is sure. However would the 28 year old version of Tzu have done better or different probably. I dont hold him not coming out of the corner for the 12th as a detraction the same way I dont think it detracts from the careers of Frazier or Duran.
Also Collazo is a C+/B fighter and he gave Hatton problems and he would've given Hatton problems lefty or not because he is a caliber of above what Hatton is use too. Collazo isn't this Great WW that just got noticed fighting Hatton, just like Buster Douglas wasn't a great HW that just got noticed fight Tyson. Collazo is a good fighter however and any good fighter will give Hatton trouble. I'll take Joel Julio, Carlos Quintana almost any WW contender other than Gatti to beat Hatton. THAT is why Hatton is going back down to jrWW because he knows this too.
