The reason Floyd moved up is because Hatton said he wouldnt be ready until early 2006.
Floyd offered to fight Ricky in Manchester, and Ricky turned it down.
Then, Floyd recently called out Hatton again, but now Ricky wont be ready until 2007.

So Floyd had a nothing fight with Mitchell and fought Judah about the same as he could have fought Hatton. Why did he not take an easy defence at 140 instead of Mitchell and meet Hatton earlier this year as suggested?

The Manchester fight was offered when Hatton was working towards Tszyu. Why would he take the fight then?

The most recent offer was at 147 where Hatton clearly isn't comfortable yet. Make the fight at 140 and I'm sure he'd jump at it.

Do you not remember that Zab Judah was the undisputed welterweight champ and many were picking him to not only beat, but KO Floyd.
Then the Baldomir fight happened, and Floyd called out Hatton again before he accepted the Judah fight, but Hatton declined.
Floyd is about to become linear champ at 147, why would he fight Hatton at 140 when he has Mosley and DlH on the horizion??
