Theres fighters today who would most definitely have a shot at beating even Hagler let alone Leonard,Duran etc.(And I still consider them the goat though, just don't act like the modern fighters are sht compared to them)

Modern fighters are better taken care of athletically with cutting edge sports nutritionist & science. And modern day fighters are better schooled oftentimes as well due to technology
I agree with Leonard Duran 1 and we do let nostalgia take over. I was a teen during that era. Comparing then to now Duran and Leonard were far better skilled and went 15. There's nothing like them now. Period.
With todays training advancements nutrition recovery etc and roids they still don't match the boxer puncher freak Hagler who did it old school and didn't need that stuff like we do today. I couldn't imagine Hagler with todays advancements.

One of the greatest chins I seen.
His career nor his chin looks so impressive after the glove scandal.

Holy sht!!! WTF was I smoking??? Thanks for correcting me.

I always thought he was chinny? He was just allowed to hold 90% of the time. I mean tiny BYRD made him quit...

Now Foreman he had some whiskers.

              Bag was too short, again.

No one even asked his views on Whyte-Povetkin.

ShoulderRoll, step your game up, man.

Leonard's performance against Hagler was worthy of praise as he stated but to add to it IMO it wasn't a clear victory and the circumstances would have been drastically different over 15 rds since during that era they fought 15 for a title. In addition we know what would have happened prior to the Mugabi fight and in 1985 when Hearns was brave enough to go to slaughter.
I now have full clarity with one of my favorites Aaron Pryor. Leonard did not duck him and I believe Ray would have beaten him
It was a solid discussion of p4p ever, but that wasn't the actual mailbag question. The question wanted Bread to trace who he thought was p4p in each individual year, and discuss what happened to cause it to be moved from one guy to the next. The usual thing would be losses, of course.

You're right. I'm glad he went there, though. The Real Sugar Ray is the foundation. It's all hypothetical because let's be honest The Heavyweight beats them all in reality.
On another note, for proper perspective and truth with great comedy, check out the Hodge Twins. I sure you watch them already. Pray for Nov 3rd.

Modern fighters don't fight 10 times a year, 15 rounds a pop either, which is much more central to conditioning & skill than being in a gym.

That's why in every sport, when a guy is coming back from a long layoff, they always say, "He's in gym shape, but not game shape". There is no substitute for actually playing the game/fighting.

Duran & Leonard would kill your average fighter today because they were used to 15 round fights, didn't get to duck people, and fought more often.

Sugar Ray Leonard retired for like a combined 10 years in the middle of his career before quitting for good and still fought 40 times. Lomachenko may not even get to half of that.
