Speaking on his resume; he's only been back boxing two years after ballooning up in weight to nearly 400lbs, and has faced two unknown, undefeated prospects who have been spoken about in boxing circles for five or six years as "ones to watch", and completely embarrassed the guy that a lot considered the number one heavyweight, twice. That's more than Wilder has done in his entire career. If that doesn't earn respect from non casuals, then those non casuals aren't worth the shít roll they wipe with.
So you are saying Fury was brave to fight 4 boxers outside the top-20? You really think he did that to challenge himself? Lol I am impressed how you spun that to make him sound brave though.

Wilder was a good win, but Wilder only beat a 39/40 year-old Ortiz in reality. And even if Wilder was the best HW on the planet - Fury needs to beat at least 3 decent HWs to get proper respect NOW. Fury also needs to actually defend a Championship belt at least 5 or 6 times. He hadn't managed once yet.

Why are other HWs out there actually fighting top-10/top-20 opponents every fight? Look at Chisora - the people he has fought and Chisora is ranked 13/14?? Even Hughie was fighting better opponents than Fury recently.

Sorry, I didn't realise you had set the universally accepted criteria for a boxer to gain respect after three years out of the ring lol

There was no spin on what I said, Schwartz and Wallin were indeed undefeated, they were indeed unknown, and have indeed been spoken about for the last five or six years.

Facts are, he had two fights to shake the ring rust against nobodies then jumped in there with one of the biggest punchers in history. He then fought Schwartz and Wallin before again, taking on one of the biggest punchers in history, after he'd been heavily dropped in the first crack.

The defining difference between Tyson Fury's opponents and those of Chisora and Hughie over the last five years are, guess what? Tyson Fury took three years off to sniff some Charlie, drink, and eat himself into obesity. Chisora and Hughie have been in competition or training for that entire period.

I'll say it again, if all of the above doesn't gain the respect of non-casuals then them non-casuals aren't worth the shít roll they wipe with. Let's have it right though, the only people that don't give him respect are either die-hard AJ fans or deluded Wilder fans.

Just to note, I'm more of an AJ fan, but I respect the far superior skill set that Fury has over every heavyweight in the division and the fact that he jumped in with a devastating puncher while still over weight when everybody (probably you included) thought Wilder would catch that body he's bragged about within a few rounds.

Me giving Fury the respect he deserves doesn't mean I think he has the best resume, because he hasn't, or that I think he should be the number 1 ranked heavyweight, because he shouldn't. I'm simply saying that Fury has the respect of unbiased boxing fans. And, obviously, that he's the most skilled heavyweight on the planet lol

I never heard anyone talk about Schwarz or Wallin before then. And undefeated doesn't mean anything until you fight someone good. Tommy Fury is undefeated.

The fact that he dodged Price (Price beat him in the amateurs) and denied Wlad a rematch seems to show Fury picks fights. Which is hard to respect as a boxing fan. Rather than him actually being the provable best - people just end up assuming he must be the best.

Also Fury lies in almost every interview so hard to respect him as a person too.

IF Fury fights Joshua (I don't even care if Fury loses to Wilder in the 3rd fight) AND a few more decent top-10 fighters. That's when he gets my proper respect. I want my fighters to prove they are the best OR to try to be the best (and fail).

I suspect what will really happen is - if Fury beats AJ he will retire (just like with Wlad). Unless he wins easily then he will rematch AJ (for the extra money) and retire then. I doubt we will see a guy try to prove he is the best in the divsion here.

I hears quite a bit about them, Wallin more so than Shchwartz.

We can talk about this guy ducking that guy all we like, but unless they actually say "I don't want to fight that guy" then it's all just assumptions. There's no assumptions on his skill set though; he has the best. That's not saying he's unbeatable though as skills don't always pay the bills. But he's definitely levels above the vast majority, you just need a pair of eyes to know that.
