This man has a lot of upside, but seems largely overlooked, due to his embarrassingly short IBF title "reign." He has recently been installed as #2 in the IBF rankings. He has at least as good a resume as Luis Ortiz, and is maybe 10-15 years younger than Ortiz. His most recent performance, against Gerald Washington, was a pretty decent one. At 34 years old, I feel he could make one more run at a "World" title shot, if he could string together a couple of decent wins. Maybe rematch Adam Kownacki? Why don't people seem to get behind him in the US? In the UK he gained a bit of a cult following with the "I walk this earth like a God!" comedy act.
What do we make of "Prince" Charles Martin, as a Contender, going forward?

I think we don't get behind him is because many of us feel he really has no shot at beating the top 5 in the divison. We see him more as a gatekeeper than a legit contender. This man has a lot of upside, but seems largely overlooked, due to his embarrassingly short IBF title "reign." Simply because the guy's a joke. He literally got paid $7 million for his IBF title to lay down against Anthony Joshua. That fight looked so scripted that even a fool could see it.Comment
