Yeah race is at play here yet Canelo signed the biggest deal in pro sports history! And now that DAZN are trying to get value for money you play the race card. People like you make me sick, no knowledge about boxing whatsoever, just mindless star worship. GTFOH. YDKSAB.

Wow a sensible Canelo fan who is both honest and rational! You are a rarity my friend, thanks for the common sense. You're right. Who really wants to see this fight? It's total garbage with absolutely no chance for an upset. Only the most deluded Canelo fanatics are praising the prospect of such a horrible matchup.Comment

You're a moron. It's not the same at all. The youtuber fighters didn't get paid hundreds of millions of dollars like Canelo does, nor are they considered anywhere near the best boxers in the world. When you're at a lower level, you fight lower level competition and get paid accordingly. When you're at Canelo's level, you fight legit contenders or title holders. Learn the game genius.Comment

I mean.. if Golovkin is fighting Szeremeta, Benavidez just fought, and Callum wants more money.. there aren't really many other 'big names' for Canelo to fight.
Sure, you may btch about the fight, but at least think about what the other options are. There aren't many.Comment

And that's the first fight Canelo's lawyers will bring up when they successfully sue DAZN for the full amount of this installment.
There's no way the DAZN contract could give them the right to pick Canelo's opponents since sanctioning bodies often mandate fights. The best they have is probably the right to "suggest" opponents.
His first fight on DAZN was Rocky Fielding, a guy who was second echelon and had a secondary belt. DAZN can't argue this is any worse because it's a secondary guy for a real divisional belt.
In other words...DAZN is screwed because, push come to shove, they have zero legs to stand on.Comment

Why should they? No one deserves anywhere near 20 million dollars to fight Yildirim. It's pretty pathetic that you Canelo fans are so up Canelo's ******** that you blindly accept whatever opponent he and Golden Boy have set up for him to fight. It's pathetic. Fans like you are the problem with boxing. As long as people have your bias and gullible fanboy worshipping attitude nothing will ever change. Accepting whatever garbage matchup Goldenboy and Canelo wants lowers the quality of pro boxing and is contradictory to a pro sport where the best should have to fight the best.
It's a crap fight not worth much but who is going to being in the subs? Ted Cheeseman?Last edited by Mammoth; 08-20-2020, 02:10 PM.Comment

No way they’ve made money on the Fielding fight. Probably didn’t against Jacobs either or they wouldn’t have embarrassed themselves and the sport by bending the knee to UFC on the Kovalev fight.Comment

But according to Canelo fanatics like yourself GGG is an overhyped bum and Canelo is the best ever. Shouldn't the best ever, who got the biggest contract ever be fighting higher than C level fighters?Comment

All I know is, a fan complaining because a network who paid a boxer the highest contract ever in pro sports is demanding decent compeition, is not a real fan. You are an empty headed Canelo worshipper with no integrity or standards.Comment

Have you read Canelo's contract with DAZN? Do you know the stipulations? Do you know the terms? I don't think so. Stop acting like you have any clue what legal rights and grounds DAZN has because you don't.

But, that doesn't mean GBP doesnt have the leverage to do this the way they want because all the signs say they do.
More than once it's been reported that DAZN doesn't make the final decision on who Canelo fights. I haven't seen a contract but my guess is the guys at ESPN or Yahoo sports have.Comment
