perfect opportunity to make benavidez vs alvarez for the 168 lb title except alvarez has refused to fight any mexicans and flies into a rage whenever benavidez's name is mentioned

"“People are judging me, you know, making it seem like I’m a super-undisciplined fighter, this and that, because I missed weight one time. You know what I mean? It’s not fair . . . ."

This is not "judging" it's a fact; Benevidez is undisciplined. He's been stripped twice, each time for issues that reflect a lack of discipline and professionalism, so he's right "it is what it is" . . .

David Benavidez doesn't think his failure Friday to make weight is evidence that he needs to move up to the 175-pound division. The former WBC super middleweight champion still intends to compete at the 168-pound limit when he returns to the ring for his next fight. Benavidez believes he can get down to the super middleweight maximum again if he goes about the process more responsibly than he did last week at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

the funny thing is WBC already ranked him #1 at 175, and placed Zurdo at #2...

nope... he still can make 168 in a healthy manner...

Hopefully he kicks himself into gear and stops shooting himself in the foot(intentionally or unintentionally). He's too talented to be having to start over again when he's been at the top on more than one occasion. He's giving the other names reasons to avoid him. Now they're talking about Canelo and Smith are interested in getting that belt. They sure weren't interested when he had it. He is a threat to everybody in and around his division(including himself) and they know it.
... Canelo doesn't fight Benavidez... no way...

This guy is delusional.. you came into the fight @ minimal 190 pounds.. the fight should have been cancelled.. you have no business fighting at 168.. you’re done.. you’re not getting a fight against Canelo..

Exactly WBC is telling him look you’re out of our rankings at 168.. he has zero chance of becoming a mandatory to Canelo after he takes the 168 strap.

And the ******* issue. This sort of behavior may be expected from a gatekeeper but from a champ, more is expected. When your last fight was almost a year ago and yet you still cannot make weight for the belt you are representing...............You are still young which is great and you can come back again which is great so let us hope you do and let up hope when Canelo has your belt you seek to reclaim it and we fans of the sport get a great fight.
