Without looking at any stats I'd say McCaskill landed more punches in the first four rounds... because she threw constantly. If you give those rounds to her I don't have any great issue. Personally I wouldn't have.

From that point though she wasn't landing anywhere near at the same rate. Breakhus took over and the fight at a better distance for her.

I saw it as close, but hard to score.
I respect Your opinion but I also respectfully disagree!

No look hooks has been around way before you were born so don’t disrespect something you know nothing about!

Stats? We’re going by stats which never truly tell the whole story!

I’m going by what I saw which is one woman wanted it much more and did it by constant pressure, body attack, physicality, harder shots all night, and made her opponent fight her type of fight!

I know you lost money on Braekhus but it’s ok, she can get the rematch and I’ll likely pick McCaskill by stoppage this time around, especially if they get 3 min rounds!

Braekhus was eating lead right hands and left hooks from Jessica like it was breakfast!

Not sure where you got Braekhus taking over at any point of the fight, she knew she lost and her body language after the fight told the story!

I wouldn’t mind a rematch so McCaskill can shut the haters up once an for all or make more excuses for Braekhus or get straight to a helluva fight between McCaskill an Serrano!

    • I thought it was awfully gracious and classy of Braekhus to not want to steal McCaskill's moment and thunder by making the fight all about herself like Serena Williams does in her defeats. Even though I believe she deeply feels she won the fight save for dominating it; I thought it was just beautiful how she past the torch to Jessica.

I feel that McCaskill put on a much a better performance than Cecilia expected; Especially in the early rounds when she was making the fight very rough and aggressive. I though that it was a close enough fight to the point of where the judges could rationalize awarding it Jessica.

Also if women’s boxing improves a lot in the next few years and gets bigger with more talent, people might look back on her reign and say it happened when women’s boxing was extremely weak in comparison.
We might say that because we're boxing fans, but to casuals, they'll say, "Whoa, look at that record. She must've been great", the same way a lot of people look at all those dudes who fought 100 years ago and rank them highly even with no video footage of them.

I don't feel McCaskill did enough to take the titles, but boxing now seems to be more about feel good stories than actual achievement. Delphine Persoon has to realize that she needs a stoppage next weekend to leave the ring with her hand raised.
This fight wasn't characteristic of Cecilia at all. She looked ragged, scrappy and tired and of course much credit has to go to Jessica for making it hard to get on her game, but to characterise Cecilia as stiff, passionless and robotic? Nah.

Macaskill threw a huge volume but it was pretty erratic. Volume deserves something, and just for throwing volume I could edge the early rounds to her. They were close but I could give them to her.

But after round 4 I thought Breakhus won most rounds with landing better shots, controlling the fight more and generally demonstrating the better skills.

To be honest my biggest surprise is the judges. I thought they would have punished Macaskill for some of her body language. Breakhus was on top but Macaskill was emphasising it in the way she was turning away.
The way McCaskill was turning away looked really bad. I was surprised that the ref didn't warn her for that. She also looked really sloppy and tired, especially after round 4 or 5. I didn't find either fighter looked good or particularly skilled but Breakhus looked more skilled than McCaskill. I'm a bit surprised that some people are high on a fight of this level.

I was actually happy to discuss the fight with you but you've shown your hand here. I guess you can't see what you've no intention of seeing.

Silly boy. I'll reserve my discussion for people of a certain mental capacity. And it's not that high a bar that you've missed.

The fact that you took my opinion and labeled it limited mentality capacity tells me all I need to know!

                Good day
