Madrimov isn’t ready for the big leagues just yet!

Mell Charlo, Hurd, Lara, Rosario all stop him!

    Harrison boxes him up!

Put him in with Jorge Cota an Let’s see!
Actually, he did get a point reduction. Mardrimov had three weeks to prepare, too.

I've seen all his fights, and this was not how you usually see him. Something was off.

And aside from some of the knock downs (two), the wasn't doing a lot of fouling.

I think the big thing... boxing in humid 90 degree weather...

He apparently was also 20 lbs overweight with 3 weeks out... so I am sure he was starving himself too... Diaz did a good job managing him through the fight to wake him up.

This ^. That shet was absurd. I got a lot of time for Madrimov but he looked like a half trained street fighter in there at times, spinning himself right round with wild leaps or staggering forward on the follow through. Gotta walk before you can ride. I'm sure he's got the fundamentals but they weren't really on display for big parts of last night's fight. Honestly if Walker had been a few years younger I could easily have seen him walk away with the W.

David Morrell was doing that last week too. They kind of remind me of one another also. In that they are both young guys from places with very successful amateur boxing programs trying to be rushed to a title in the pros and neither seem exactly ready.

The ref did a good job for the most part. It was ugly and Uzbek should have been disqualified or had many point deductions. The fact he let Walker finish the fight when most would have stopped it showed good judgement on behalf of respect. I like the job the ref did and maybe he realized it dont matter how many points he takes away the fight still is going to the Uzbek. Pretty sad considering the effort Walker gave. If it went to the cards in the 8th rd I had walker ahead.

Not bad for Madrimov who took the fight on three weeks notice. This guy is a beast. Looking forward to more fights from him.

The writer of this article may be worse than the ref last night. It is completely irresponsible to have the title of this article be anything but “****ball biased ref robs Madrimov of highlight reel KO win.”

Fcking disgraceful officiating. Great fight though.

No matter how well Walker fought or how rough Madrimov looked at times, you CANNOT just erase a clean KO. Walker was KTFO’d. He didn’t come close to getting up.

Very entertaining and also sloppy fight. Ref wasn't great but he had alot to contend with. Madrimov had some very sloppy and dirty tactics.

As some have mentioned, the short camp, heat and tougher than expected opponent probably contributed to Madrimov's performance.

Regarding the KO and subsequent ruling from the ref; I'm not going to criticize the ref too much. Yes, the punch lands hard and clean but as Madrimov "Supermans" himself towards Walker it appeared as if he drives into him. Walker's head snaps back violently when he completes his fall.

I realize there wasn't actually much contact made but it's a ****/**** read that the ref has to make. In my opinion, it's a knockdown and a subsequent foul. Not sure how that should be ruled but the person who bears responsibility (IMO) is the one who was fouling, turning his back and making lunching tackles all night.

Lastly, I give Walker a ton of credit. He didn't wilt under pressure and he fought with composure. I'm.sure he heard the ref say if he couldn't continue the fight would go to the cards. He opted to fight. My hats off to him.
