If wilder had signed with dazn I doubt Ruiz would’ve been used as the replacement, it would’ve almost certainly have been Ortiz in that case. He was only turning down AJ to fight wilder.

However that would’ve been a huge matchup even if ortiz beat Joshua because the first fight already had questions - but if ortiz had then best AJ and held all the belts that rematch would’ve become huge itself; and far bigger than the actual rematch was at the time.

Everybody said at the time that he should’ve taken the money except for a few wilder fans trying to defend his move for whatever bias reasons they could come up with. The only scenario where the money would have gone up for him is if both he and Joshua continued to win every fight.

As has been proven, fury doesn’t bring the same draw as AJ unfortunately and whereas you can guarantee a ppv baseline number in the UK if their is a behind closed door fight , unfortunately you can’t do the same for fury.

Pride got the best of him...everyone except Wilder knew is the biggest mistake of his career. Now that fight is worth a fraction. And if he takes and L it's pretty done and dusted

Again, Hauser loves his revisionist history. This is the same guy that wrote how Mayweather was "surprised and caught by USADA agents receiving an illegal IV" until it was discovered it was the the USADA DCO who'd been with Mayweather the whole day who observed Floyd's condition and gave paramedics permission to do the IV.

Luckily for us, there are still a few links around that prove what was being said at the time:

"Wilder and his team met with DAZN executive chairman John Skipper in New York last Tuesday to discuss a deal that would have led to a showdown for the undisputed heavyweight world championship with unified titleholder Anthony Joshua as long as Wilder and Joshua won interim bouts."

        https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/...ure-dazn-offer

"DAZN’s idea was for Wilder to unify against Joshua if they both won their interim bouts this summer"

        https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/5...0million-dazn/

"The second fight in that deal with the DAZN would be a unification bout with current WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, should he retain his belts when he faces Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller this summer in New York."

        https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianma...er-and-legacy/

        Look, believe what you like.

Wilder is set to make at least another 25 to 30 million whenever they do the third fight.

That puts him close to where he would have been if he'd signed the DAZN deal AND AJ hadn't got KTFO...and it puts him way ahead of what he would have made if he signed only to have Andy Ruiz moot the whole deal.

Race baiting piece of trash Wilder got the crap beat out of him for far less money than he would've made via an easier route. End of STORY!

Haha you must be trolling! These ‘fans’ you mention clearly don’t subscribe into paying dollars so why the hell should any network care about them?

It’s crazy how much money Fox and Haymon must have lost - are you happier them taking the financial hit on propping up Wilder rather than “deadzone”?

He “Bet” on himself but the only thing he brought to the table was the belt which he held hostage, he claimed he didn’t want to be controlled like “Fury and Joshua” yet this mug has 3 managers/advisers who regularly mug him off.

Now that his only carrot has been taken off him by Fury, he has ran away and gone quiet , let’s hope the “Autopsy” doesn’t stop him from taking the third fight with Fury.
Not strictly true... he has been seen by the whole world twerking like a proper batty boy

And there was no guarantee of an AJ fight from Team Joshua, only from DAZN. How's that working for the Canelo vs GGG 3 fight?
In this case Hearn manages AJ so he wouldn’t make the offer without AJ agreeing to it. Plus AJ’s stated mission at the time was to be unified heavyweight champion so of course he was on board.
Percentages only make sense for the biggest draws. Wilder is not a draw. Even with Fury he couldn’t crack a million buys. Fact is he was offered $120 million guaranteed and he turned it down. Only way that makes sense is if he’s pulling more from PBC, which there is no scenario where that happens. He could have been done with his 3 fight deal that was offered by now and gone back to being “his own boss.”
He got played by Haymon and took an L before securing the big bag.

Wilder would have never got paid the $100m.

Dazn is bankrupt. Eddie the business destroyer.

‘What ifs’... People can't get over with the loss. Why can’t people just accept the plain fact and move on. Wilder wasn’t as good as advertised and not accepting the offer was a blessing in disguise cause he wasn’t worth that offer
