DAZN USA is in trouble unless Blavatnik throws more money at it.

They should have let Golden Boy run the show not Eddie Hearn.

Who's buying a sports channel during the Covid era?

Probably best to sink or swim as a still fairly new company than sell. Seeing pennies on the dollar if you get out now most likely. Letting it ride & losing will have similar losses & you could still figure things out & cash a lottery ticket on the investment. Seems worth the gamble to me.

Yea that was a silly move. I assume they expected bigger things from Eddie than he delivered with his US facing promotion.

wait for drama with GGG Promotions since it's a big part of DAZN Global. Expect inquiry for what GGG will get to justify pay cuts from other clients. Which means, if DAZN acknowledges such inquiries, they might do the same to GGG and then expect A BIGGER DRAMA SHOW!!

If they are cutting costs they would need to cut them across the board & it's possible some boxers would be more or less accepting of them. So everyone should be feeling it more than it's about them affording certain fights or not.

Personally I think anyone with a long term contract (& no ownership incentive like GGG seems to have) should use that as leverage to get their agreed to money or get out of their deal...unless they legit think they got a cherry unbeatable deal or are unlikely to find the money anywhere else that beats the new offer. Canelo for sure shouldn't accept a new deal unless it's a low % being cut cuz he can generate money on PPV like no one else can these days.

He doesn't. He has the option to sue for breach of contract but that would put DAZN out of business indefinitely.

They will be forced to file for some type of bankruptcy relief because they are in debt and cannot afford to pay off all their bills.

If they just so happen to go that route or option then chances are that Canelo won't see another red cent because they would no longer be in business.

Well said, canelo ggg and any other fighter that has a contract with DAZN does not have to agree to anything that’s not already in writing of said contract. They are literally in the drivers seat. Canelos situation is a bit unique to those others however, because like you mentioned, he can generate the same if not more via the PPV model... so he truly is in a win win situation. Can’t say the same for the rest of the roster specially if you can’t sell to casuals.
