Do a google search. It's advised to run against traffic, even law in some parts of the world like Chicago.
Maybe whoever advised you to run with traffic just didn't like you.
Edit..... Here you go. Texas department of transportation advise.
What can pedestrians do to stay safe?
When there is a sidewalk, use it!
If there’s no sidewalk, walk on the left side of the road facing traffic
Always cross at intersections or marked crosswalks. Look left, then right, then left again before proceeding
Obey all traffic signals
Make eye contact with drivers before crossing the street. Never assume a driver sees you
Be visible. Wear something light or reflective after dark

does it not make sense to run where you can see the cars coming??Comment

You really think so? To me, he appears focused, determined and eagerly ready to get back in that ring again. However, I do agree that his conduct does appear to be a bit erratic and eccentric at times.Comment

how the fk are you gonna dodge a car travelling 60mph+ ?
I really wanna see that
a car is far more likely to ride the shoulder, than cross the centre-line... even just due to camber of the road if driver falls asleep
I don't know, maybe it's different in the US... just surprised is all... we drive on the left, and have heavily cambered roads for rainfall
I can see what you're saying... not sure now, fair pointComment

I always run on the side of the road opposite of the cars direction of travel, if I can.
I can usually judge if a car is riding the side of the road and isn't going to ease over when he is like 50 meters out, and I don't run on roads where cars go terribly fast, but I'd rather see a car coming, realize they don't see me, and try to jump out of the way, than be running the same direction as the car, and not see the car coming, and that car not see me or think they can clear me and cannot.
In boxing, they say the punch that does the most damage is the one you don't see coming. Imagine how that magnifies, getting hit by a car.Comment
