Heavyweight has historically been the most important division in boxing and being the hw champion has been the most prized possession in the sport. Fury defeated the previous long time reigning champion xovercame adversity and then convincingly stopped an undefeated world champion. To me, that's better than Joshua quitting vs a fat 30-underdog or Canelo getting help from judges anytime he's in a close fight. But they get the loyal groupie fan boy support.

This is what happens when you actually put on competitive fights. You can make a good entertaining fight card without having a big name headline the card as long as the matchups are competitive.

Canelo is still the face of boxing for now based on his history of doing big numbers. But Fury is probably more recognized globally at this point, and has more momentum. Canelos popularity mainly comes down to his following in one massive country of 130m people + the tens of millions more of those people who reside in the US tuning in. Its like a larger scale version of how AJ does big numbers solely based on his UK fanbase.

Lol, Ed Hardy clothing and UFC fans are like PB&J. I watch here and there but when it comes to head to head Boxing always comes first and it's not even close. I will always pick a Boxing card over any UFC card. That sport has a lot of issues, I mean they legit let fighters juice and compete for a good while. It was like if Boxing let Miller still fight after his PED issue.

The UFC has some of the strictest drug testing in sports these days since they introduced USADA.
