I kinda do a lot of grey area *******ing so it's worth it for me. If you don't wanna pay (it cost me about £100 for 3 years) there's free browser based ones... lemme just look a sec...
Yeah, if you're on Android then the Google play store will give you HoxxVPN (in fact there's literally dozens of options, if you jusrt search up 'VPN' or 'VPN Proxy' - including, amusingly, a p0rnhub one). General consensus is that free Proxies are going to be turning a profit by mining your data though, although basically everything else you do online is too so it's a case of deciding how much that bothers you.

Hotspot shield looks well recommended, but 500meg a day ain't really gonna cut it for Streaming fights or whathaveyou.
I'll just try installing Hoxx on my phone, ain't well recommended but I've used it before on desktop so I'm a little familiar, see how it works:
OK Hoxx will quickly let you up a free account but localisation seems to be limited under the free mobile version, Japan, Canada, NL, US, Germany and France. Doesn't look like privacy is as tight as a paid version either but... well, I guess you get what you pay for. Quite likely many of 'em will have in app purchases for extra data or more localisation options or whatever.
Other thing to watch out for with VPNs is they'll tend to be a touch slower, I've not had any significant issues on my desktop with a wired connection and a paid VPN but I've heard it's not uncommon to get buffering issues on mobile devices when roaming.
IDK... if you got the money and/or privacy concerns sounds like paid is maybe the way to go, but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who uses mobile versions free or paid. I just installed Nord on my phone and linked it to my account so I'll see how that pans out in terms of connection speed and stuff. I been doing P2P about that long ago myself back using slow-as-foq e-mule. Switched to *******ing about 12 years ago. Only started using a VPN about 3 years ago. Had a few quid at the time and figured rather safe than sorry + get the benefits of localisation and privacy.
Ain't strictly necessary and the odds of getting caught and punished are minimal but I got more risk averse in my old age. Also it's worth being aware that you ain't just gotta protect yourself against current law and policy but also the future. Same reason it's probably wise to guard your words a little on social media - you don't know what's gonna bite you on the ass 2 or 5 or 10 years down the line. Never know what kinda regime's gonna come into power way things are going but smart money says the less ammunition you give em the better. Figure for less than the price of a pint a month... well y'know.
