Comments Thread For: Arum: I Won't Lose Money On Loma-Lopez Because Lopez Thinks He's Worth More
Collapse
-
"The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger reported Thursday that Arum’s Top Rank Inc. has offered Lopez roughly a $1.2 million purse for facing Lomachenko in a lightweight title unification fight. Lopez’s purse, if he accepted that offer, would be worth slightly more than a third of what Lomachenko would be guaranteed for their 12-round, 135-pound title fight."
Hell Naw! This ain't no 65-35 fight! Lopez has to get at least 40% of the total pie! ESPN/Top Rank needs to fix this ASAP!

Why don't you provide facts and figures to back up your statement? If you really think Lopez has done his part and is worth 40% why don't you provide an argument instead of your biased opinion?
Teo may be doing his best to promote the fight but he isn't making hundreds of thousands of dollars doing so. He can be a Twitter internet hero all he wants but with 30k followers he's reaching virtually no one.
Feel free to visit it sometime and read the hilarious comments lmfao.

Boxing's top 25 under 25: Meet the stars of the future
In putting together a list of the best 25 fighters under the age of 25, Ortiz was an obvious selection. The list, composed by a panel of ESPN boxing contributors, shines a spotlight on the best prospects in the sport as well as some promising up-and-comers, title contenders and a few fighters who are already world champions, including Teofimo Lopez Jr., Shakur Stevenson and Ryan Garcia.
It wasn't an easy task to rank them, but this incredible collection of talent shows that boxing is in good hands in the years to come.
1. Teofimo Lopez Jr. (15-0, 12 KOs), 22, IBF lightweight titlist
The fighter: Lopez is rated No. 2 at lightweight by ESPN. From the time he turned professional in 2016, Lopez consistently showed he was the Top Rank prospect with the highest ceiling. He has great counterpunching skills, incredible timing, accuracy and power.
Accomplishments/biggest moment: In an era during which many boxers win a watered-down version of a world title, Lopez went out and dominated the respected -- and normally durable -- Richard Commey in a second-round TKO victory in December to win Commey's IBF belt. Sometimes it's not if you win a title, but how you do so.
Future/ceiling/expectations: There has been talk of a showdown with unified lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko, the best fighter in the division and ESPN's No. 1 pound-for-pound in the world. A win against Lomachenko would make Lopez the sport's youngest superstar -- and he would've done it the right way. -- Steve Kim

Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, both these kids have talent but they haven't achieved enough, especially in the COVID-19 era, to demand massive paydays. They better take the fights or their careers will come to a stand still as quick as they started. Teofimo beats Loma, then he's the A-side, then he can demand bigger purses. Until then, he should STFU and take the million + he's been offered.
