Why not now?

Lara is older and less of a threat.

But he is the WBA champ at 154.

There’s a lot of revenge storylines. Canelo could knock Lara out and right a controversial win in his career.

He could also get revenge for his brother who Lara embarrassed in his last fight.

Lara is a more well known name than Smith, so DAZN will probably be okay with the opponent selection.

I think Lara would also jump at a payday well below what others are negotiating because he’s not going to get the shot otherwise. He would also probably be willing to meet at a catch weight above 160.

I think DAZN and GBP should consult with me for ideas at this point hahaha.

Don’t want to derail this but that’s the one thing I respect about May and Pac(to a lesser extent) if anything. At least they tied up their loose ends. This clown is happy to run away with controversial wins.

You covered all my bases too. OP got this idea from one of my posts. It's a good fight, Lara-Canelo. Can GGG still fight at middle? Not really sure, unless he's drained to pieces. Guy is too big for 160.

That's called overhyping. I got Lara anyday, if their weights ever matched. I'd pick Lara over GGG now, at 160. I thought Lara beat Canelo in a close fight.

I still got Lara. Imagine if Golovkin had fought him during Golovkin's destruction of everyone from 154-168, that never happened, at 154? I think Lara would have beat him.

never saw the "controversy" in this fight. Canelo won clearly to me. Lara just wanted to survive. good luck selling this rematch to casuals lol. all they're gonna do is watch the first fight and be disgusted at Lara lol
