You are rewriting history in a BS manner and leaving out important facts. Lara was a champion at 154 when he fought Canelo. When called out GGG he had never defeated a middleweight. To this day your wonderful Lara has never fought a middleweight so why in the hell should GGG fight him until he earns a shot by beating a world rated middleweight which he probably could not do. GGG had almost all the middleweight belts and had lots of other true middleweights who deserved a title shot when Lara did not. You talk as if because Lara called GGG out he was somehow obligated to fight Lara immediately. Boxing doesn't work that way and call outs don't mean sh it.Anybody can call out anybody. If you want to fight the middleweight champ you need to give him a reason to fight you. Lara never beat a middleweight and had a bunch of losses and draws with mediocre fighters. If this call out comes with no money offer then it is meaningless. Lara never offered GGG a dime to fight him. He just made a lot of noise. Lara wanted to start at the top and fight GGG without ever beating a middleweight. That is a hell of a lot different than Lara calling out Canelo at 154 when he was a champion at that weight. Canelo did not even fight Lara at 154 and instead fought him at 155.Lara is not a champ now. He is just one of those BS Jr champs. GGG can't fight him now anyway because he is fighting his mandatory challenger to keep from having his world title stripped for not fighting him. You see GGG is a real full world champion not a bogus jr champion like Lara. GGG would flat murder Lara now just as he would have when Lara called him out. Lara is not a big money fight for anyone anyway. He is a runner who stinks the fight up. Canelo said that was why he would never rematch Lara.
Yet another Canelo fight that makes sense: vs. Lara 2

I’m one of the last people you’d hear overhyping GGG. But that Lara **** is nonsense.
It’s all hypothetical, just like the guys that favor Lara over GGG. Yeah GGG had hard fights with all of those guys, who happen to be strong middleweights. Lara was getting dropped by Ángulo, who isn’t half of what GGG is. GGG has problems with guys that can take his punch and push him back with combinations to the head and body. You’re dreaming if you think Lara is going to do any of that.
GGG is better at cutting the ring off than Canelo and is also less hesitant to take punches to land some, which is where Canelo matched up bad with Lara. Canelo is defensive minded and will not recklessly put him himself in the danger zone. I may have exaggerated with slaughter, but I see G stopping him in 7-8 rounds.Last edited by mxtali; 07-27-2020, 11:11 PM.Comment

Please, my friend, quit coming up with these garbage fights for Canelo. Canelo is not fighting below 168 anymore and today's Canelo would slaughter today's Lara. Just push for Canelo to fight Callum Smith. That is the best fight and the one that makes the most sense. Why not now?
Lara is older and less of a threat.
But he is the WBA champ at 154.
There’s a lot of revenge storylines. Canelo could knock Lara out and right a controversial win in his career.
He could also get revenge for his brother who Lara embarrassed in his last fight.
Lara is a more well known name than Smith, so DAZN will probably be okay with the opponent selection.
I think Lara would also jump at a payday well below what others are negotiating because he’s not going to get the shot otherwise. He would also probably be willing to meet at a catch weight above 160.
I think DAZN and GBP should consult with me for ideas at this point hahaha.Comment

I hate that Canelo never rematches his close wins like Lara and Trout. Those fights deserved rematches but then again if it would've went to the judges then same result so nevermind.Comment

Cheap. So every SD or MD should have a rematch? That’s not how boxing works.
Canelo didn’t have to fight Lara but did so whereas most boxers today don’t fight even if they’re called out on stage. Andrade’s been doing the same thing Lara did to Canelo to the Charlos but the twins aren’t interested. Everybody says Canelo vs Lara was close. Canelo won, and imo had the better power punches. There’s no rule to favor headshots over body shots. Both hurt and both end fights. Judges preferred the body hitter chasing the other, and he at least landed. The Trout fight, again many say close. Who got the knockdown? No need for rematches.Comment

So what about Kell Brook? Gabe Rosado? Vanes Martirosyan? Why didn’t the same prerequisites apply to them?Comment
