Regardless of what the record may say, Derevyanchenko has a stronger argument for beating Ggg than anyone Ggg has faced so far in his career.

GGG doesn't have it anymore -- he's old, he's got lots of money...

I had it a close win for Derev. And I'm a big GGG fan. I might be wrong, though, but I saw Derev win 7 rounds. Maybe even 8.

"Questionable knockdown." Who writes this crap? I had Derevychenko one up going into the last two rounds, which I thought Golovkin won handily to take it by one point. Even though it was a very competitive fight, I didn't think there were any swing rounds. I thought all rounds were easy enough to score.

he's been on a steady decline for about 3-4 years now. That's what typically happens to boxers in their mid to late 30s.... At least the ones who don't use PEDs.

Jermall, my advice to you is to not to worry about Gennady Golovkin but Sergei Derevyanchenko. The man is dangerous and can fight.

While you are at it, it will do you good if you can learn how to move and box too. If you don't this guy will knock you out.

Daniel Jacobs was saved because he chose to move and outbox Sergei rather than slugging with him. He won a very close decision by doing so.

The reason why so many boxing fans; Including myself thought that Dereveyanchenko defeated Golovkin because Gennady chose to exchange and trade toe to toe punches with Sergei which was a mistake.

He hurt triple G and came close to knocking out with body shots with that strategy. Derevyanchelo is a very dangerous opponent who cannot be overlooked.

I disagree with the winner. Was a good fight but I have Derev edging it out. Would be nice to see a rematch. Maybe DV can get the rematch once he takes Charlo's paper title

(yesterday I re-watched Errol Spence Jr v Shawn Porter... Spence landed 184 power punches, of which 112 were to the body -- hence, a judge had Porter winning by 115-112)...
How did you end up scoring Spence/Porter after second watch?

And yes, body shots sometimes go unnoticed by judges. The 115-112 Porter score was ridiculously awful though. Giving Porter 8 rounds? Yikes.

I didn't score it round by round but felt that Derevyanchenko won the fight close. That being said, I think it was a diminished GGG we saw in the ring (whether that be from age, accumilated punishment, illness or a combination).

I think Derevyanchenko is one of those guys who will make fights with the top guys close and competitive but always manage to be on the short end of those close fights (whether deserved or not). There are some fighters who's style and/or temperament lend itself to that.

If and when Charlo and Derevyanchenko meet up, I expect Jermall to do just enough to get the close decision on the cards.
