That's not according to what Roy said. Here read this below:

        That's not true

        The fight was being hyped

I remember they both appeared together on the Mtv Awards show as presenters where Mike told Roy, I might have to come take that belt off ya champ!

Ithink Jones would have been KOed if he had fought Tyson. Tyson was much better than Ruiz.

I very clearly remember him saying he only wanted to fight Tyson and then retire shortly after the Ruiz fight...or otherwise he'd just retire. He wanted $100M...was offered 40M and turned it down and the Tyson fight never materialized and we all know how the rest turned out. But he definitely wanted that Tyson money back in the day...it would have been a retirement payday for him.

The fight was offered to him after he won the title and jones turned it down then 🤔 all these years later we have to pay to see Jones-Tyson spar each other 🤔

Jones was a legend but had no business at hwy. Ruiz was a cherry pick.

Roy Jones Jr makes way more sense for Tyson in early 2000s than Lewis. Tyson took on his toughest foe, a huge guy at heavyweight when he was at his end and he paid the price.

Did he ever! What a punishment that was for Mike. Hard to watch at the time.
