Yeah. Tyson fell off pretty bad but Roy got so chinny. Tarver and Johnson ****** him out. What could Tyson have done?

Come on. 5m a fight is nothing, he turned down 40 for Tyson fight apparently coz he had the nerve to ask for more money lmao

Dude, give it up. He was being paid 5 mill for fighting the Hardings, the Halls, and the Kelly's of the world and that was 18 year ago. That is not peanuts. Your definition was way off.

Instead of Tyson fighting Danny Williams, a fight with Roy Jones would have been both competitive and compelling.
Tyson was actually in pretty good shape vs. Williams and he was dominating that fight early, almost stopped him, then he blew his knee out and that's why he lost/quit. If that Tyson gets Roy, it is quite possible that he stops him before the knee goes (he would most likely be in better shape and thus less susceptible to the injury in the first place, because of course he would have been motivated for a fight against Roy Jones). After watching the Tyson fight and Vitali fight after, I don't think many would argue Danny Williams had a pretty good chin and Roy, well, didn't. Most people forget or never noticed that one of the VERY few clean punches Ruiz landed wobbled Roy for a split-second.

He actually did after the first Tarver fight, post-fight interview with Merchant.

Your thinking of Roy from the vantage point of when he suffered all those knock outs AFTER Ruiz starting with the Tarver rematch. I’m talking about the Roy who was pound for pound king in 2002 & 2003 up to his wins against Ruiz & the 1st Tarver fight win.

At that particular point in time, no one knew if Roy had a weak chin or not because he was never seriously hurt or knocked out up to 2003. I would say that a pretty confident Roy with virtually no losses (1 disqualification to Montell Griffin) on his record, would have had the strategy and reflexes to stay away from Tyson’s power and tire him out. He basically quit against Danny Williams and McBride. I think Roy would have been motivated again for the challenge of Tyson. Now, I do believe 1 shot could have put Roy out because he started out at middleweight and went up to light heavyweight and then heavyweight, and then back down to light heavyweight. And then moving back up to heavyweight again to fight Tyson. That’s a lot of transition on a body, moving back and forth weight divisions like that.

I could agreed that the Tyson that fought Danny Williams may have caught Roy and hurt him but only if he caught him early on. But I’m also saying it’s quite possible, Roy could have won that fight being at the top of his game, being pound for pound king, virtually undefeated, full of confidence and thinking Tyson was on a decline.
