The only thing that is going to save DAZN in the long run and in the foreseeable future is Pay Per View. One cannot afford to pay these exorbitant amount of guarantees while losing money in the process.

They need to go back and revise some of these contracts and start allowing some of the promoters of these fighters to assume some of the risks. It could take several years for DAZN to get back to where it first started off.

If they don't change their business model very soon they will bankrupt or going out of business in less than a year. What Bob Arum said has backfired. He said that it was good thing that HBO went of the boxing business because they had to compete with Netflix.

What he failed to mention was is that HBO didn't need sports to stay in business but cable networks and streaming online services like ESPN and DAZN does. They have lost millions of dollars in this pandemic because of the lack of sport

Agreed, never subscribed, and that’s due to eddie Hearn. Golden boy just doesn’t have the stable to impress outside of the west coast but I have always said dazn should ya e made golden boy the lead boxing promotion as they HAD the star. Looking back now that wouldn’t have saved dazn USA

Personally I don't see an issue. As a matter of course we should look at any media or news source (right from Fox News or The Wall Strreet Journal to the 'Scene or The Morning Star or your local Community Newspaper... they all got a slant) in the context of the interests of it's owners, there is no such thing as true objectivity - nor should we expect there to be - merely different perspectives and interests. The Scene still remains about the best boxing news source around but like any other source we can't expect it to exist in a vacuum. Just a matter of acknowledging what those interests are.

Well thought out point of view but what pure sport channels need is product, sports, sports of any kind.

              Cold hard facts.

BTW, I admire Montoya. He's the real deal. He took hell fire for telling the truth being a real journalist in an age of posers.

I would pay for Dazn - it's low price. But I never pay for anything

Some fans love certain fighters, others love certain promoter-managers. Clearly you are the latter.

I dont know how DAZN will turn out in the end. Do I care about DAZN ? Not really boxing the fight game will continue it's a natural. I like it better talking about fights then talking about investors, or companies or Promoters. I do not think that any of those big money guys are concerned about the average fight fan one bit. Nothing personal they just do not care, so I do not care too much about how they are doing. I never read the business section of the newspaper always went right to the sports pages box scores W-L records things like that. OH and the Police Blotter that has always held my interest for a few seconds not that anyone cares.

FINALLY, someone that's honest about it.

HBO left boxing because subscription based cable TV is shrinking. They need to focus on the products that make the most money.

If DAZN was still $10.00 maybe but asking $20 with such a narrow product line won't do.

PBC can stay alive as long as they maintain fee fights but $90.00 is in the must stream category.
